    Default Diver Down 2?

O.K. After just watching the video of Romeo Delight from Chicago thats in the VH on the Tube forum and seeing them interact with THE WHO'S "Magic Bus" it came to me that maybe a great way for them to come out with a new album would be to due an album much like that of Diver Down. They can redo some great classics in their own style and mix in some new stuff as well.

How about an Album that has half new material and perhaps songs like Magic Bus, Crossroads and other classic rock staples? It seems to be the "in" thing and has worked well for guys like Rod Stewart who did his own versions of classic love songs that was recieved quite well, in fact I own it as well.

I know the whole joke of "ten albums worth of material" but how much of it do you believe is actual songs and not just riffs and shit.

You know, it's not too bad an idea actually.

I mean, with the Crue, Tallica, AC/DC, and even Extreme releasing new albums this year, I'd settle for a new VH cover album over no new album at all.

I was just thinking the other day that as good as this year has been for old school rock, I still wish it was Van Halen coming out with a new disc instead of some of those above.

    Just my opinion though!!

Like I said, I think that new cover tunes are at least better than no new tunes... which is what we're gonna get if Dave and Ed try to write together, so I guess I'm just taking what I feel I can get.

If nothing else, at least it would give them something new to play at the next concert, if and when it happens!!

A cover album is a cop out and would be so inferior to an album of fresh new material, even if the new material sucked. One word = lazy. It would make VH no better than Poison, and if you ask me, Poison are absolutely pathetic these days.

So Eddymon, are you fucking kidding me? That's almost as insane as saying the Red Sox will win the AL East by two games...

Include some classics from GnR, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Metallica and maybe throw in a Lyle Lovett. They could fire Azoff, because he is funneling money to Sammy, rehire Daniels and do a cover album of Rush and Extreme.

    Negative. New band, new music.
