    Default Mad Season Does RWTD

I just recently got a Mad Season boot called Season of Myst, and in the file was the original description of this cd being part of a 2 cd set that included a Pearl Jam show from 1995 in Seattle and on the PJ cd were 4 tracks from Mad Season and one of the tracks listed was Runnin' With The Devil. Has anybody out there ever heard it or better yet does anyone have a copy of it. I would love to hear Layne singing a VH tune.

Here is the info I have. I also see it was brought up here in 2000 when I did a google search. I haven't found the song yet though.
This is an auction for two extremely rare Mad Season CDs, one including rare live Pearl Jam too! Mad Season (an English term for the time of the year when psilocybin mushrooms are in full bloom) consists of Alice in Chains' late singer Layne Staley, Mike McCready (Pearl Jam) on guitar, Barett Martin (Screaming Trees) on drums, and Baker Saunder (Lamont Cranston) on bass. For more Mad Season info check out this Sony music page: http://www.sonymusic.com/artists/MadSeason/

Both of these CDs are Genuine, meaning that they are original CDs, NOT burned CDRs.

    SEASON OF MYST
    1. Instrumental
    2. I Don't Know Anything
    3. River of Deceit
    4. November Hotel
    5. Artificial Red
    6. Voodoo Child? Instrumental
    7. Lifeless Dead
    8. I Don't Know Anything
    Total time 61:54
Recorded at the Crocodile Cafe Seattle Oct. 12th 1994
    Label: RTW 018(1995)
this passage is taken from the sony music site i listed above, and it is referring to this concert, their first show...
"The next logical step was to play in front of an audience. McCready again took the lead, arranging for an unannounced show at the Crocodile Cafe. The fact that the band didn’t have even one complete song prepared (...only jams and beginnings of songs, Martin admits) did not prove to be a hindrance; in fact, one number, Artificial Red, which the band would later record, actually came together during the show itself, evolving out of a jam."
The CD is awesome, better than the Above release in my opinion. It also contains a great Hendrix cover (#6). CD itself is Blue with Black text, and of course is not a CDR. The CD does have some minor noticeable fine scratches when examined close under good light, but these are purely cosmetic resulting in no playback skipping problems (i will guarantee this). I just tested both cds out on my extra scratch-sensitive Danish stereo, and they passed with flying colors. Season of Myst is in very good condition, especially considering it is over 8 years old.

    Next CD:
This is a German import that contains both Pearl Jam and Mad Season Live, and is even more rare than Season of Myst.
Title: Pearl Jam - Seattle 1995 (ARR 95.091)
Label: ARRIBA! marketed by MCM, Rauheckstr, 10D....etc.
    Total time 69:35
    Track listing:
    *pearl jam
    1 spin the black circle
    2 satan's bed
    3 corduroy
    4 not for you
    5 immortality
    6 Last exit
    7 Blood
    8 Tremor Christ
    9 Porch
    10 Indifference
    *MAD SEASON

I found it here, yet I'm non-Spanish literate...

Dunno if that helps, as I could not get the thing to work.

Thanks Chef, I found that sight too, but it was in English. I couldn't get it to work either.

Well, I found an ancient thread about this version, and folks at the time were none too kind about it:
    http://www.vhlinks.com/vbforums/runn...vil-t1042.html

I did discover an old link to a youtube vid, unfortunately it was pulled. No idea of the date. Sometimes these things are listed via obscure terms to hide what they actually contain (think back to all of those Zeppelin vids from the '07 show that stayed up because of strange or coded wording).

If I happen to come across it in the future, I'll certainly PM you. Best of luck in your search.

I think I heard this back when I was collecting Pearl Jam CD bootlegs in the mid 90's. I forget what disc it was on, but really, I don't recall the rendition being anything special. It kinda came off half-assed.

It seems that people are discussing that RWTD was done by Mad Season here. I have not heard it but I believe those sessions were from the Self Pollution Radio thing Pearl Jam did.

    *MAD SEASON
    11 Lifeless Dead 5:07
    12 I Don't Know Anything 13:04
    13 Black Mirror 4:04
14 Running with the Devil 4:05

Mad Season did perform those two songs( songs 11&12) for Self Pollution radio, there is even video of Mad Seasons performance from the show out there. Although this is the track listing, I think songs 13 and 14 were probably done by Soundgarden who also participated in the Self Pollution radio thing. I would have to hear them , but I am pretty sure that Layne never sang RWTD with Mad Season, anywhere. Hopefully, if someone here has the RWTD audio, they can discern Layne from Chris Cornell, even if the guys were just jacking around. I would be interested in hearing someones opinion who actually has the audio track.
