I heard about that on the news today, and thought it was called Google Clone.

I'm not jumping on the band wagon just out of the starting gate.

Nope. Not with this little guy around...

One noticeable difference between Judas Priest and Metallica...
...Judas Priest only has one gay guy in the band.

Umm, I like it. Cute looking, at least as fast as firefox . I'll give it few days, I might as well switch to it. Like the tabs/most visited idea.

I'm using it now. Very fast. Loads all my regular pages lightning fast. We'll see how it goes. Although Firefox has a shitload of add-ons, etc I really only use a few of them so the lack of them in Chrome really isn't that big of a deal to me.

trying out CHROME at the moment, but I can't change my "Display Mode" here on VHLINKS, or search within a section... Any ideas??

Chrome is a beta. It's not yet a finished product, and will have some bugs. It doesn't score as well on the standards compatibility as some other browsers, which may explain the display mode problem.

I like the idea of Chrome. The browser marketplace has become pretty stagnant the last few years. There's not a lot of innovation going on. (Okay, Opera fans, let fly...) Anything that forces the big boys to improve their products or lose market share is a good thing.

Google, however, as a company is beginning to make me nervous. Too many of their privacy policies are opt out rather than opt in. I'm not so sure I want any company tracking my every move, lumping me into advertising pools, and targeting the advertisements I see to me specifically. I think that sort of technology has some very dangerous possibilities. How long will it be until our entire web browsing experience is targeted directly to our tastes, making it much more difficult to broaden our horizons? How long until our news is both written and targeted to us as individuals? How long until the information that encompasses my reality is very different than that of another's?

Companies make web-browsers for different reasons. MS makes IE so that they can more directly control a user's experience. Mozilla has guided Firefox so that there is a viable competitor to IE. Apple has built Safari so that it has a broader selection of browsers for the Mac. Opera has written Opera to make a profit. Google has created Chrome to, in my mind, gather data.

I hear you, the other day i was looking at the google ads on right side when you're checking your gmail, and they were specifically targeted for exactly my exact job position, even though I've never filled any form letting them know what I do! Kinda freaky, even though useful.
