    Dave Era Personal CD Compilations

I was interested in what you would burn onto a single 80 Minute CD of Dave-Era VH Songs.

Here is a list of 23 songs that I squeezed onto an 80 minute CD from the Dave Years using the Rhapsody Music Service, which I had a subscription to back in 2006:

    Eruption
    Ain't Talkin' 'Bout Love
    I'm The One
    Jamie's Cryin'
    Atomic Punk
    Feel Your Love Tonight
    Little Dreamer
    Bottoms Up!
    Light Up The Sky
    Spanish Fly
    D.O.A.
    Beautiful Girls
    Everybody Wants Some!!
    And The Cradle Will Rock
    Romeo Delight
    Take Your Whiskey Home
    Mean Street
    Sinner's Swing!
    Hear About It Later
    Hang 'Em High
    Cathedral
Little Guitars (Intro) / Little Guitars
    The Full Bug
"The VH Universe is built on a wall that separates CVH from SVH. Tell either side there's no wall, you've bought a war. Or a slaughter." Lt. Joshi - LAPD

I agree with droppiong you Really Got me...

Did you forget that they recorded another cd during the Roth era ? It was not that popular, if you look around you may find it.... It was called 1984..

    I would drop
    Little Dreamer
    Beautiful girls--

    Add..

    Somebody get me a doctor
    Unchained

I'm not going to look up the actual times of these songs, but here are the 20 I would choose:

    Ain't Talkin' Bout Love
    I'm The One
    Feel Your Love Tonight
    On Fire
    Somebody Get Me A Doctor
    Light Up The Sky
    D.O.A.
    Beautiful Girls
    Everybody Wants Some!
    Romeo Delight
    In A Simple Rhyme
    Mean Street
    Sinner's Swing
    Hear About It Later
    Unchained
Little Guitars (Intro) / Little Guitars
    Panama
    Drop Dead Legs
    Hot For Teacher
    Girl Gone Bad
"It's so lonely at the top because it's so crowded at the bottom" - Diamond David Lee Roth

"Political correctness is fascism pretending to be manners" - George Carlin

"Women and Children First ... The REAL Van Halen III"

    Oh....you're right about 1984...., and, I didn't forget it....

Because I was assembling the burn from what I could download from Rhapsody...I had to go with with the Van Halen albums that were availble. At that time.... 1984 was not available to burn on Rhapsody.

If 1984 had been available.... I would have considered dropping some of the other tracks to add Panama, Girl Gone Bad, and House of Pain.

You're correct about SGMAD... I need to get that in there somehow !

It's technically possible to overburn a CD to 90 minutes, but I have not ventured there, yet...

23 songs huh...since this is about Dave I will leave off the instrumentals.

    RWTD
Little Dreamer - don't really like it that much, but Dave sounds great on it
    Atomic Punk
    On Fire
    I'm The One
    SGMAD
    DTNA
    Beautiful Girls
    EWS
    HAIL
    Simple Rhyme
Romeo - favorite song from this last tour
    Unchained
    Sinner's Swing
    Push Comes to Shove
    So This is Love?
    Full Bug
    Secrets
    Little Guitars
    Panama
    Drop Dead Legs
    House of Pain
Me Wise Magic - Dave is struggling on the high notes, and who knows who wrote the lyrics, but I wanted to have something from each album.

No Jump, You Really Got Me, Dancin' in the Streets, or Pretty Woman thank you very much.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

Hurricane Halen - Let's all gingery touch our sword tips!!!

=VH=316 - I like the idea of putting live songs on it from the last tour. If I was doing that I would have to put the live version of Romeo Delight on there. They absolutely smoke that tune live!

Yeah,I always try to put as much live stuff on these kinds of discs as I can. Especially with this one,and availability of so many bootlegs from this tour. of course,I always use the Milwaukee one as the source, just cuz it sounds really good, and it was 1 week in from their "hiatus". They sounded awesome there that night, even better than the boot sounds by far.

It just breaks up the "same ol'" of some tunes....like Jump. Burned out on that tune for years, but live was just neat to hear and see. And there are some songs they have that I don't particularly like, like EWS,Cradle, and I'm The One,but they just kicked major ass live.
