    Default Peavey HP Special "CG"

I know what Peavey HP Specials are, and they generally cost more than $599.99.

So what's the story behind these?: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ksid=p3907.m29

Based on the description, I'm assuming the "CG" stands for "Custom Graphiti" finish? The H-S-H pickup configuration in that guitar is different than the standard H-H I've seen in previous HP Specials. Given the low price, I wonder if these aren't made overseas...then again, the ad could've said this, too (I didn't read it all the way...).

The most important pieces of musical gear are the ones you can't buy; your hands, your head, and your heart.

I can't "think" my way to a great riff, I can only "feel" it when I hear it...

It says "This guitar is Handcrafted in the USA".

I stand corrected...nonetheless, something about this doesn't seem right. The "standard" US made HP Specials sell for no less than ~$1295 around here, and that's after the typical 20% discount from MSRP.

The best guy to ask about this would be Jeff at RockandRollWeekend.com. He's a dealer specializing in Peavey HP Specials, and would know the details of these guitars much better than I.

    Hope this helps!

My apologies...it's "Geoff" at RockandRollWeekend.com, not "Jeff".

Yes, those are the import version--probably bought at a cheap price, custom painted, and sold on eBay. If he's saying they're made in the USA he's full of shit.
