I'm heading to the show at the Erie County Fair (near Buffalo,NY) August 12th. Really looking forward to seeing H&H again. This show is H&H, Motorhead, and Testament, no Priest. Got third row seats for $55 a piece, compared to the regular Metal Masters shows this is really cheap.

Ummm... Halford hasn't lost a step as far as I'm concerned. He can still rip it out just as good as ever...

His voice is definitely a notch lower.

    I have a question though:

Why in the 80's when Halford had yet to come out of the closet was he acting all frontman like...like very entertaining and flamboyish.

Now after coming out he is acting all macho?

    a notch lower?

people are so funny, especially people who really don't understand singing.....what do you mean by lower, that he is singing in a lower key? his range has always been very very wide throughout his career and has sung in the extreme high range as well as in a standard middle.....

his voice has changed, but that is inevitable, because the voices of every human being on the face of the planet changes, as does the voice of every singer no matter what, as your cells die and new ones replace them....

his range is quite intact....as i have seen him live recently in 2004 and 2005, and i will again in a few days.....my buddy said he killed it last night....

Where can one find the tour dates? I'd like to see if they're gonna be anywhere near NV. I'm sure they're not but it won't hurt to look.

Forgive me for not talking in proper musical language. Yeah I'm so funny.

I just mean his range sounds like it has diminished quite a bit. And his voice sounds deeper.

Whether that is scientifically true regarding his cells dying or ceasing to exist I don't know...so shoot me!

Thanks again. Off to check it out now.

EDIT: Wow the closest they're getting is Shoreline. Bummer.

Well Deeper tone, meaning use of a greater range of frequency does not equate to having less vocal range(meaning the scale of notes upwards and downwards) at all, in fact, it's better to have a broader deeper tone, it makes you a stronger sinnger. His range has not diminished at all.

That being said, back in 2000 I saw Halford open for Maiden twice, and his voice was not that strong, he was a bit weak, more than I ever heard.

Since then I have seen Halford with Priest in 2004 and 2005 and his range is more than fine, he nails everything live.

I'll let you know after the show tomorrow.
