Default Need Constuctive Critisizm (Frankenstrat Content)

I did this body up from a buddy of my over the big pond. He got the neck elsewhere (which he regrets).
I want it as perfect as I can get it. So look it over. Let me know if I forgot anything or overdid something ect...ect
Remember though- I replicated the real deal, not the Fender flopper.

Thanks Brutha. From you that means alot.
Notice that my buddy in the UK sent me a logo stamp for my neck pockets.
I just laquer thinnered the old stuff off and stamped away.
    The guy is a lifesaver.

That thing is freaking perfect man!!!

I hate to even open my mouth criticizing that perfect replica (that is WAY better than the fender one) but doesn't Ed's have multiple holes drilled around the strap eyelets where they had gotten torn out and simply remounted in different places over time? If I recall, he even had the eyelet hooks mounted on the back of the guitar at some point... let me go look for that video...

Bro, that thing is ready to go. Ship it off. It's near perfect. The scratches and the black paint bleed through on the red is great.

You did a great job aging that body. Something to be proud off for sure!

I need to post some pics of all of my Ed replica's, including my aged Franky that I had custom built for me!

Aha! I see you've got the correct holes drilled in the back, which I missed before -- but look at these:

The first 2 pics are from an earlier concert, and show that the hook was on the back of the guitar at the time -- hence the multiple holes there... great job catching that!

The other pics show a crookedly mounted regular strat strap screw, and then if you look really closely, a hook mounted at an odd angle on what looks to be the rounded edge of the guitar body! That would explain the other pics I've seen somewhere, but now can't seem to find with many holes drilled for both strap hooks all the way from the side to the edge to the back of the body. But it is really not important... you've got that thing perfect!!

Well thats my baby in the picture, you don't get better than Ron for detail and the work he does. It sounds and plays as good as it looks. It is a a labor of love for him, and he is the best you will find out there.....Fender should of hired him for their project (Sorry Chip) he would of helped out.

    Thanks buddy..... Derek

Thats wild. I guess I have got this to a science. This one is actually a new one. Yours was done and out the door ages ago. Seems like ages anyway.
This is just a body I did up for my Ad agent.

    Awesome catch!
Actually, Ed had a bell knob there on the inside of the horn. Its a knob from a Dunlope Strap Lock set. Its kinda loose so a strap can hook on without slippin off. Some guys like it on, some dont. I personally like it, with the eyehook on the back.
I kinda try and limit too many holes on the horn cause it really weekens it. From what I read, that's one thing screwed up with the real deal. The upper horn is almost mush.
