My question is why are they ripping off old designs? Why didn't they come up with something new for this tour? For all this "new band" bullshit, they sure are doing all they can to live up the nostalgia thing, even down to the shirts.

I'm just curious why they would go this route, they never have before.

Yeah, I know. They did come out with the "08 Tour Globe" shirt, but it seems no one likes that one but me.

I may have to pick up the lion shirt, as my old one is long gone.

If my my memory serves me correctly the 2004 tour was the 5150 album cover on the tour shirts.

One of them was, yes. There were several new designs as well.

The presumed 'official' upgrade of the VH logo in 2004 was the VH ringed flaming globe. It was on the standard issue tee as well as Mike's guitar picks.

I don't know what the 'offioial' upgrade of the VH logo was in 2007-2008 other than the crowned and bird-winged logo on the one black tee and hoodie. But that was the only 'new' VH logo design, if memory serves, one for the guys in black, one for the girls in red. Though the girls got a new 'Goth' type VH shirt too.

That is exactly why this "new band" crap is BS.

Loyal fans scammed again with old regurgitated crap (designs) we already bought once before. Some people never learn! Glad to see the band is still looking out for themselves.

I tell you what the grey shirt I bought with the 5150 album cover on it is some high quality shit. I still wear it and I'm now an a-cup so it has held up well. The new ones shrank like fuck.

My grey one I picked up on this tour is probably one of the best quality concert-tees that I have owned. I liked the fact that it mimicked the logo on Alex's kit.

Maybe the limited choices in T-shirts was due to a lack of confidence behind the scenes (not necessarily the band) in the success of the tour? Possibly doubts about whether there would be an audience for the music and also about whether the tour would last even as long as the scheduled first leg?

The shirts in '04 ran small too, though, at least, the black ones did. Think I got a black flaming globe tee in Vegas, washed once, never worn again. The VH 4 shirts were for shit, even when they upgraded 'em. The 'new' ones replacing the old lot after too fans wanked didn't shrink as previous issues did, but the subgrade silkscreened logos faded mega fast...at least, on the black ones, though the red crown/wing baby doll held up for my girl, for some reason. She wears it all the time.

Pretty much got an official shirt at every show I've been to, except for two tours, one because I was a kid with zero duckets, the other because I wasn't much older and the lines were miles and miles long. Fucking Devore. Hate that place.

Overall, I'd have to say the best selections in terms of variety and quality were later on, the early days with Dave had less choices and concert tees back then weren't exactly premium cotton. Best quality far as I can recall was at the '91-'93 FUCK/RHRN tours and, ironically enough I suppose, the III tour. I remember the III tour had this cool beige long sleeve with a small brown rings logo on the chest, anybody land one of those? Balance had some good designs too.

They did have a few new ones, to be fair. The crown/wing, Alex's drum kit nike slash distressed thing, and the girly pinup/franky design, plus the one Goth VH baby doll shirt for chicks.

But the eagle, the lion, the 'space' logo, the classic VH 1 logo - all rehashed from the past.

I'd imagine the two white ones, the lion and Alex's VH drum kit logo, held up better than the rest. Black VH concert tees never hold up well, in my experience.
