    Default listening to fair warning

this isnt really about vh so much as it is music.

i was in san francisco over the weekend, and on sunday afternoon i went into this little record/guitar store kinda by the coit tower. i ended up leaving with a great-condition copy of Fair Warning on vinyl.

Being a teenager born in 92, i missed the vinyl era. but why the hell did we ever abandon it? the album sounds so much fuller and warmer, and simply better than i've ever heard it!!

A recent study shows 92% of the teenage population likes rap music. If you are part of the 8% who listen to real music, put this as your sig.

Whereabouts was this store and what was the name of it? I used to live in that area and am hoping to return there for a much-needed visit. We used to live on Stockton St between Bay and Francisco.

    I miss home.

the store didnt have a name as far as i know. it just said Records on the sign, unless i just missed it. they have a second store right by there, too. the other store sells more audio equipment but has a ton of records in the basement. thats basically all the description i've got...

Okay well then I'll just look up Records in the yellow pages.

There used to be quite a few small record shops around there. A lot of hidden gems if you knew where to go. Not sure about now tho since I haven't been down there in years.

Thanks. Grant is a mother to get through, it's so narrow. Might have to hoof it over there.

I remember whenst FW first came out. I bought it over at Tower Records on Columbus Ave. It was very different from VH's last album - at least that was my first impression. It was an amazing album and remains so to this day. I also saw them whenst they made their Oakland stop during the FW tour.

    Good times. Damn good times.

Gone are the days whenst you could just go to Tower and buy a new album. I hear vinyl's making a comeback of sorts tho.

And yes, I was at that show. Amazing show. Well except for the bright lights during ATBL.

There are two kinda of music fans: Ones who care about convenience, and ones who care about the quality of their music.

Me? I find myself in the latter.

I've only begun getting into vinyl but my God is the sound so full and rich! I need to start collecting some classic albums in vinyl format. Get some Rush, VH, and Genesis albums on vinyl and move on from there. I don't know where the hell to start, though (as far as actually OBTAINING them is concerned)

The other one is across the street from Sodini's restaurant and Gino and Carlo's bar.
