And there it was,,, Smoking Loon, I thought WTF and bought the Syrah 2006 and I have to say, the best guitar player on the planet has good taste ! My guests were impressed and so was I but My wife thought I was a geek when I told her why I bought it,, go figure :-) Next time Cabernet !!

And it's pretty cheap too, eh? (Except if you buy it by the glass in a fancy-fancy jazz club like I did. $6.50 a glass?? )

Let's hope Ed has indeed stepped away from the Loon for good. He didn't look or sound too wonderful in the Great Era of the Smoking Loon.

I like smoking loon as well.... great price on it at our Sam's Club.

Although..... if I had Ed's money I can name several other red & white wines I'd be drinking.....

We'll know if the Loon is back......when/if that damned sustainer makes it's next appearance.

I have seen it for around $7 to $8 here in USD. I'm not sure if that is what it normally goes for, or a sale price, though.

I can see why Ed was drinking relatively cheap stuff, though. Say you're putting back 3 or 4 bottles a day of the stuff...if your wine of choice is $20 to $25 per bottle, that's an expensive habit even for someone with quite a bit of money.

If I remember correctly - I heard that Ed was part owner of SL or had major stock in the Co.

Was that because he saw the crapload of money Sammy was making off the Tequila and wanted to get into the same game?
