Default Ed and the national anthem

My husband and I were just talking about Jimi Hendrix playing the Star-Spangled Banner at Woodstock, and that got me thinkin'.....has Ed ever played it in a public forum? I don't recall ever hearing that.

because if he did, I bet he would sound pretty freakin' great, yeah?

I think it was Ed playing it live before some of the FUCK shows, but maybe they were prerecorded.

No it was not Ed. It was either his or Sammy's guitar tech playing the anthem.

Mike plays a part of the National Anthem during his bass solo on the Live, Right Here Right now album.

I was really wondering if he had played at any special events, i.e. the Super Bowl, or something similar. I don't recall ever hearing that he did.

It was the Hendrix version from Woodstock being played through the P.A. system before they took the stage during that tour.

I was always under the impression that it was the Hendrix version too. From the few boots I have of that tour, it definitely sounds like Hendrix.

I remember reading a review for one of the FUCK shows in Kerrang years ago and the reviewer mentioned that if Eddie was responsible for the National Anthem before that particular show, Ed was about to have a really bad night...

Would Ed play the National Anthem??? I know he's a US citizen, but it could be an awkward situation for him to be in. It would for me, anyway.

I was at a show on the 2nd leg of the f u c k tour and he played it before the drill on poundcake. (lights were still off in the arena). It was not that good. Just a basic version. If I remember right he only played about half of it.
