I believe someone said they were $35 in a previous thread.

Tee shirts completely sub par this tour.

    Much like the tour itself.

Obviously Dave had little to no input in merchandising.

    Much as the tour itself.

I guess I must be in the minority, as I actually like my '08 Tour Globe shirt. Maybe because it looked like the design on Alex's kit.

Hey, both DG and myself got the vintage, lion "Hide your Sheep" shirts when we caught the show in Providence less than a month ago.

They're 100% cotton, thick and (if I remember correctly?) were prolly the cheapest "official" t-shirts being sold. We were not trying to be thrifty regarding the t-shirt purchasing process (fuck, we spent waaaay too much on beeyas, soggy nachos and spared no expense at the "DUNK." lol) but they were and by far, the coolest lookin' shirts to commemerate the 2008 Tour. IMO.

They're white, have all the 2008 dates on the back. Maybe they're just newr ones but they rock. DG bought me a black shirt from way early in the tour and it's also 100% cotton, holding up just fine as well and NOTHING like those shit-ass t-shirts from the 80's that I used to purchase.

Also and this is really weird, so see if someone can help me out here?

BOTH of my t-shirts (along with my tix stubs) read "VAN HALEN" on them?

I'm just trying to figure out that? Is it a misprint or what?

Anyhoo, hope you're well dude and as I've always stated (even though we disagree) you're a good kid.
    What's going on, Max?

Nice stories about the shirts. To be honest with you, VH's last two tours have had some of the shittiest merch I've ever seen. Genesis and Rush (my last two "big" shows aside from VH) had an outrageously good selection. Genesis had great quality shirts (about seven of them), selling CDs of previous concerts from the tour, programs, special edition CDs, pictures, etc. Rush had high quality shirts (eight or so), programs, CDs, posters, a huge book of past programs, etc.

Van Halen, when I went, had four shirts, some key chains, and probably a drink warmer somewhere in there. They could do SO much better. And yes, my 2007 shirt IS holding up nicely but the thing is a piece of shit. I feel like I'm wearing paper when I put that shit on. I don't say it because of how against the tour I have been. It's just awful quality. 2004's shirts' designs were better but were basically of the same quality. My shirt from that tour really didn't hold up well, at all.

Hope all is well on your end too, my friend
In and out. I didn't even make that pun on purpose.

I typically buy all my shirts outside venues either before of after the show! I have never had a quality problem with any of them and I typically pay $10, but never more than $15. You gotta barter!

    $30-$40+ for shirts is BS!!!

My mom threw away all my concert t-shirts from my early days. I guess I shouldn't of kept them on the floor of my old closet. Probably a $1,000 worth of T's from the mid 80's-the mid 90's.

Interesting how many complaints there have been about the quality of the merchandise during this tour.....

I have a question....isn't (or maybe by now the verb should be "wasn't") Alex's wife an art director in the music industry?

I bought a shirt on the first leg, and it is crap.

My fiancee bought me (I paid for the tickets), a shirt on the second leg. It is much sturdier.

Back on topic (ooohhhhh... but it's soooo tempting to stray. lol )

DG and I got awesome t-shirts in both Providence and Boston.

One's black and the other's white. One's the "Hide Your Sheep" version with all of the 2008 shows listed whilst the other's a black 2007 one.

BOTH are 100% cotton, thick, durable and NOTHING like old, crappy and poor quality tour shirts from the 80's.

Thus, the shirts are just as epic and superior a product as the tour was.

Again, I know some people wish the shirts would fall apart after one wearing... These are the same people who hoped the tour would fall apart after one show.

    *NEWS FLASH*

    Neither happened!!! LMAO!!!

Out of curiousity, how could ANYONE badmouth the tour IF they actually attended it?

    There's no way...

    Nope...

You never even attended one show of this tour.

Just like you never attended the '83 US FEST.

Until you post tix stubs, a pic of you being there, 99% of us know you're just lying to cause more trouble within threads you have no business being.

Shucks, that pretty much sums up every forum.
