    "Revolutionary" New Guitar?

Saw this and thought of the board. I'm not a player, so I'll let the room decide if it's "revolutionary" or not!

Pretty cool. I wouldn't spend a lot of money on it...but it would be something cool to play around with.

Seems like it has a sustainer that can reverse it's function, so instead of sending a magnetic pulse to sustain the string, it becomes magnetic to mute it.

Sorry, that sounds kind of terrible. Just like a talk box or a sustainer, its a toy. It is interesting though.

Interesting.......but,yeah,it's a toy. I hate sustainers in the forst place, and this would just about make me puke. Might be fun to screw around with, but I can just imagine what the price would be.

BTW.......didn't really notice.....can it even be played normally? I would imagine, but not once did I hear a completely normal sound come from it.

i wouldn't bother, i mean the fact that the strings sustain is a good idea, but it just doesn't sound good.

    Revolutionary... nah. Gimicky... sure.

Based on what was demo'ed hard to tell what exactly is it's tonal range. Sounds like it was being played thru some little POS SS amp. Pumped thru a nice warm tube amp with a jazz vibe dialed in... it might sound sweet.

When Vernon Reid was shown I would have really like to have heard him blasting through a full stack.

theres certain things about this guitar i find interesting, theres certainly going to be applications for it, but i think its use or need will be limited. also i think it will detract from the actual learning process, imagine if non of us had to learn how to palm mute or left hand mute, you could have the worlds worst technique and never have practiced all the basic skills, but this thing comes along and all of a sudden you can play like you've played for years...personally i think you should only be allowed to buy one if you can prove your playing credentials...lol

Employee: Okay...Mr....Van....(tries to pronounce)....Halen!!!!.....Oh my god, I didn't recognize you! It's an honor!!!

    Buyer: Ohh...why Thank You...that means a lot

ok there should be a few exeptions, but ed has to sign a contract to say he wont use the sustainer thing it has on it, if he does sammy n mike are instantly back in the band and ed has to rub his balls with mikes hotsauce and clean his contact lenses using sams tequilla.
