    Default BUGERA AMPS

    I have never looked into these amps other then the gay looking ad they have in Guitar World with the Fabio muscle guy doing the "platoon" movie cover pose in front of the 333 model. LOL

    I saw the ads for the Bugera 6260 and 6262.....These are 6505/ 5150 series knock offs aren't they??? Esthetically they look very similar and the specs for pre-amp and output tubes are the same, and the 120W rating is the same as the 6505's.

    Bugera is made by Bheringer? Everything i have owned Bheringer wise has been crap!!! LOL

    ...But at half the price of a Peavey 6505, are they any good? ...or does the old expression "ya get what ya pay for" apply here?

    Harmony central have some reviews and there seems to be a few reliabilty issues with the Bugera amps.

    Stay away from Bugera! I had the 6262 212 combo, and it was a piece of crap. Damn amp started to smoke, and I wasn't even pushing it hard.

    If you like to start fires and waste money, buy the Bugera (Booger-a). If you want a good piece of gear, buy the 5150 or 6505.

    It's always a good economical choice to buy the store brand strawberry jam and save $1. When it comes to gear, the "generic" option will almost always catch up with you.

    Well, I have not personally played a Bugera, but I know this much;

    The biggest piece of gear I trust Bheringer with is their $40 headphone amp in my studio....

    Forget that. I wouldn't touch it. Right now I'm looking at a Kasha Brick head. 2 channels, 5 or 12 w, made in the US and under a grand.

    Funny... I thought the same thing when I first read this thread. The only Behringer gear I've owned that has worked well is the single-rack space 4-channel headphone amp, thus it is now the ONLY piece of Behringer gear I own.

    Ya -- that is exactly what I've got!! Actually, mine is 1 rack space tall, but only 1/2 of a rack width. It is cheap and lightweight (that always makes me question stuff for some reason... ), but it does its job very well.

    I've heard horror stories about other Behringer gear though.... watch out.

    I have had the 6262 head for about 6 months now and have NO complaints at all! I constantly get complimented on it. I managed to find one for $400 brand new.
