    Default Respect The Wind

I was checking this song out again the other day and I must say that it is really impressive. I'm not a big fan of Eddie's sustainer era but this song really showcases his sustainer skills and it's done so well. The mood and feel of this track is fantastic. I believe in the liner notes of the Twister soundtrack it stated that Eddie and Alex wrote this song and that Alex played piano on it. Does anyone know if this is in fact true? I cannot find my CD case/jacket for the soundtrack so I can't confirm that what I think that I remember is true.
As usual, there is a great woman behind every idiot.

Yes, Edward and Alex wrote the song and Ed is on guitar while Alex is on the piano.

That tune puts a chill down my spine and makes me turn my head to the sky.

I agree with you, that song has soooooo much feel to it it's insane. The version on the score CD, not the soundtrack is even better, its like 3-4 minutes longer and is my favorite instrumental.

Solid tune. Another reason that I would like to see a Van Halen instrumental record. I also think EVH has a future in scoring movies (a la Wild Life).
I don't have a cool signature. Deal with it!

Yeah Respect the Wind was played as a bed for Eddie's rambling lie after lie over the hagar split during the 96 "best of" radio premiere. It was soooooo dramatic. Good Music, just always think of that with that song.

I sat through the credits for 'Twister' in the movie theater just so I could hear the whole thing. Great job by Ed and Al!!!

"Respect The Wind" is a cool track. Haven't listened to it in a while, I might just have to dig it out and give it a spin...
“And what we have at our fingertips is arguably one of the greatest high tenor voices ever – that was in Michael Anthony. In our tiny little corner of the universe, that voice is as identifiable as the high voice in Earth, Wind & Fire, as identifiable as the high voice in the Beach Boys. Van Halen is an indelicate house blend of both – that’s intentionally. So I would always look forward to that reunion.” - David Lee Roth
