    Default EvH Concert Art Series

I have a friend in Auston, TX. who wanted to design his own EvH Concert Art Series guitar.
He sent me a few pics of the real Concert Series guitars with some ideas of what he was looking for.

This is what we came up with ...

Damn! That's awesome. The minimalistic approach is sweet.

Hey Dino I have a question for you.

What would you use to remove paint off a gibson faded flying V. I think those would make a great project guitar and they are kinda cheap sometimes on ebay.

    Thanks.

Oh by the way you make great stuff.

Many people use a heat gun (especially if it's a poly finish - tough to sand!) which you can buy fairly cheap at most hardware stores. Stay away from chemicals to strip paint... it will seep into the wood.

I would think that heat would be dangerous to the neck because the neck is painted the same as the body, but the body probably wouldnt be harmed

A recent study shows 92% of the teenage population likes rap music. If you are part of the 8% who listen to real music, put this as your sig.

There's really no "right way" or "wrong way" ... it's really all a matter of what works best for you.

Just some things to consider though ...

    1) Chemical stripper will melt binding, position markers, and inlays should they accidently come into contact with it.
    2) Using palm sanders or electirc hand sanders may destroy the shape and contours of the body if you're not careful.

I did a refin on a Gibson V awhile back.
The body was stripped with chemical stripper and the neck with good 'ol sandpaper to help protect the inlays and position markers.

Another advantage to chemical stripper is that it gets into the nooks and crannys where you may have trouble getting to with sandpaper.

Thanks for the info and the pics.

I thought of getting one of those faded V's and staining it a root beer brown with a black pickguard and nickel covered humbuckers and crome hardwear. It kinda reminds me of tthe paudak guitar that you put together.
