Default Is this the end of the road for Van Halen?

Well, it looks like Monday 6-2-08 is the last day on the books for Van Halen. Is this the end of the road for them?

Nah, he ain't done yet. Especially if the Chickenlittle thing Sammy is doing takes off. Rivalry can be a good thing.

I know the only thing you can predict in Van Halen is that you can't predict anything, but I have a good feeling about this. Ed seems happy with Wolfgang and I think they know they can't do it without Dave.

If they are genuinely happy together right now then why not go into the studio and see what they can do?
I think that there will be a live dvd and maybe a live album form this tour.
This is the happiest I have seen Eddie look onstage in many many years so I do think that he is not done yet.

As far as Mike and or Sammy goes with VH, I see a reconcile between Ed and Mike before one with Sammy. Wolfie may have plans to go to college, maybe his heart isn't into music and this tour was a way to see if it is something he wants to pursue. Lets face it, the kid really never does have to work, he's got two parents with alot of money.

My thinking of what will happen is that Mike will be back in the band and that they will get together in the studio for an album and tour and as long as Dave and Eddie can stand each other and Eddie remains sober then Van Halen will continue on in its original state.

But the most important thing is that Eddie stays clean for his own being.

Assuming there's no guitar smashing or insults between the band members during the last show of the tour, I think "no way!" is this the end of the road.

End of the road with Dave as touring band? Maybe/ Maybe not.

I think it's likely that VH as a band will continue to come at us in different forms from time to time as long as they are all alive and kicking but...

As supersonic and frenetic as their sound has always been, the current VH organization moves at a glacial speed man, which is kind of ironic. If you are looking for instant gratification, VH just isn't your band anymore. There will likely be more long periods of a whole lotta nothing.

It's really hard to say. For all we know,it could all be an act,but if the animosity between Ed and Sam was as bad as it was revealed to be,ya gotta remember,at least they had a few new tunes. If they are at all happy with each other(Dave and Ed),then it seems quite possible that there could be more to come. No one knows but the band themselves.

They are putting on a good show,Ed has cleaned up really well, and as a Sam over Dave fan, even I have to say I would really enjoy seeing more form this incarnation of VH. I have a new respect for Dave, although his singing voice isn't anywhere near what it was way back when,he is putting on a hell of a show and seems to be trying really hard. Regardless of his voice, new tunes or a disc isn't out of the question, simply because anything can sound good with enough studio work.

I hope they continue on,but I wouldn't hold my breath, and I wouldn't blame them for somewhat retiring. They have had a good career, are set moneywise and aren't exactly getting any younger. I'm just happy to have had the chance to see them once again.

I won't be holding mine either. I'm happy with what I have gotten considering I was constantly worried a few years ago that I would wake up and hear that Eddie was dead. It's all just icing on the cake at this point.
Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here we might as well dance.

It seemed to me that Eddie wasn't ruling out a new album...saying something like, "we'll cross that bridge when we get to it". It seems like they're either considering it or talking about a new album and/or tour to support it. I'd like to take EVH at his word, but it's kinda hard given the history. We can only wish for new music!

I think that as long as all the guys have their health we will see them on the road in the near future. A new album probably won't happen but we can always hope.
