VH DVD the enemy of new VH CD?

It seems no one is talking about the possibility of a new VH CD anymore, with this new DVD coming in (which is better than nothing). If you ad the extension of the tour, all signals point to no new music.

Which would expose the "optimistic" Press Conference launching the tour as a bunch of lies and propaganda which would've made even the Politburo of the soviet union proud!

With "sauce" Michael Anthony they made 11 albums and now with "seventh wonder of the world" Wolfgang they can't even make one?

Once again the fans have been played, me fears.

It could go either way. It could show that the band is working together. The same could go for guitar hero, it shows that they are talking to each other and moving foreward, unlike 2004 where once the tour started they hated each other to bad to even talk off stage. Perhaps the DVD is to test the water, who knows. Just remember the world is more complex than black and white.

    Time will tell.

How would a dvd slow them down from making a CD if there were ever any thoughts of making an album?

I don't think we'll see a dvd even though it has been mentioned. They'll wrap up the tour, review the footage, Ed will be dissapointed with the vocals, they'll go in and over dub a bunch of things, then get in a verbal fight, next thing you know dave and sam are on tour again with Extreme opening the show.

Let's wait 4 the tour 2 end & the DVD release [which will smoke ] & then let 'em crank out the record. The DVD will b a smash hit & the new CD will rock but 1st, baby steps:

Tour ends...release the live DVD.........& then make some magic in 5150 & use DLR's own label 2 serve up the hits

With this band, you just never know.

After the 2004 tour ended, I never thought they'd get back with Dave but they did. Regardless of why, I finally got to see Dave and Eddie on stage doing those old songs.

First some people said no tour.

    News of a tour broke...

Rather than get excited and be happy, some people said it will sound bad. Background vocals will suck, Eddie will suck, Dave will suck, etc.

    They sound GREAT...

Bitter as ever, lol, some people (in the spirit of the 911 conspiracy people) said Wolf isn't playing. Eddie & Wolf aren't singing.

Yet, Wolf IS indeed playing, tapping out harmonics, playing all sorts of intros to songs, etc. Both are singing, too. And they sound...uh...GREAT.

Now we get news that there could be a DVD in the works.
Some people are upset, because that means to them, no new music.
    LOL.

Well, first there was a tour with Dave,
Then Eddie gets clean and healthy, Wolf has inspired him,
The band sounds AMAZING, Dave sounds great, Eddie is BACK (!)
Alex sounds great, Wolf is playing just fine, singing great.

Now they will RECORD a DVD...
If that is indeed what Dave said

And then new music WILL BE recorded.
    It will be amazing.
Crazy guitar, pounding drums, booming bass, and Dave being DAVE.

    Relax.
Don't be so bitter, so jaded.

    The past is past.

If, and it's a BIG IF, EVH can stay sober and healthy you can expect some killer new music from VAN HALEN.

Piss and moan and cry all you want.

You'll see. First the tour has to end and hopefully they record this all for DVD.

    THEN...

    New music.

ALL the bitter and pessimistic jaded naysayers and loudmouths will eat their words, just as they did after the TOUR was announced.

Then, because it was really happening and sounded so good, they made up bullshit that the bass is piped in...

    Ha.

Now, of course, they will say no DVD or no CD, no more VH, they will hope that it all ends.

    Some fans...

    Ha.

See ya at Madison Square Garden this Friday!

The tour will end very soon and then we'll soon hear rumors of recording sessions and of course you bitter "fans" will say Eddie is playing bass for Wolf and say the music will suck.

    Wait and see.

Fear? Who are you kidding. That's what you're hoping. You've made no secret of how you hope VH will fall on it's face without Mikey. You've done nothing but try to stir the pot since this whole thing was announced.

The truth is, one thing has nothing to do with the other. Van Halen doesn't really have to have much if any participation in a live DVD. They show up and do the show like they would anyway and their management hires a crew to film it and assemble it. Van Halen doesn't have to be hardly involved at all. There would be no reason this would replace or even delay a new studio album, should they go that far.

Personally, I doubt we'll get that new album, but it's not because they decided to do a live DVD.

Hey who knows, everyone in that band with the exception of Wolfie has made statements that they later contradicted. They are human, we all do it, just not under the microscope of the Van Halen community. No matter what they do from here their music will live on. We will all still rock out to Atomic Punk and So This Is Love whether they are a band or not. I for one am happy with my choice of favorite rock idols, favorite guitar player, Favorite rock your ass off, grab your favorite drink and your favorite girl and forget about the rest. I am a Van Halen fan and I make no excuses or apologies.
