    Default Watch advice needed

I need a watch to wear to the gym, on the boat, at the beach and in the pool. I guess I'm saying it needs to be a really good water resistant watch.
    *I don't dive.

I am not looking to spend a fortune and I'd like for it to be a fast drying band.

Anyone have any input here!??? Last one I had was a Columbia watch, loved it, can't find another like it. I just don't want to buy an inexpensive or lower priced watch and then have to replace it because it sucks.
    Thanks

I really like Timex Ironman watches. I've found that they hold up well with lots of use in the gym, pool, etc......

I looked at those, thanks! They seem to have decent reviews as well.

I second that. I am a "watch" guy and as far as holding up, the Ironman watches are excellent. Not to be worn to a wedding but they are great for everything you listed.

Timex Ironman....very affordable and the only watch my kid couldn't kill. Went through several a year until I got him an Ironman that lasted him through 2 "swamp romps" at summer camp, lots of canoeing, fishing, 2 years of swim classes, and all the assorted abuses a middle schooler can inflict (it even went through the washer once). After 2 years he "loaned" the watch to someone and we never saw it again. Bought him another for christmas and he had that one through high school.... not a bad run

Not to sound like an elitist prick, but a Rolex is hard to beat.

Before everyone jumps my ass, let me 'splain.

Jewelry stores charge a mint for these, but they are easy to find secondhand. A stainless Datejust goes for $1000 - $2500 and all are water proof to 100 feet at least.

    The basic service is $300 + -.

Once properly set up, they are trouble free for years.

I have a stainless and gold one given to me in 1989 and it has been serviced once since.

If you add up how much you spend on watches in that time span ($200 - $800 at a time it becomes very reasonable).

Buy one if you can swing it.

thanks guys.... I would truly consider a Rolex, my only problem is I'm scared I'd take it off at the gym or on vacation and lose it... with a cheaper watch I wouldn't worry (and probably wouldn't lose it due to the "inexpensivness"). I can't sleep with a watch on and take it off to shower.

I have a very nice omega watch with diamonds that I love for everyday and dressy occasions -

    Anyone else?????
