    Default VH Influence (Weddings)

I'm getting married very soon, and my friends know that I'll definitely be paying homage to VH during the ceremony and/or reception.

I was just curious if you guys have any stories to share about how you've honored VH at your own wedding. Thanks.

316 was one of the songs we played when people were coming in for the ceremony.

The DJ also had all my VH CD's and we told him to play songs from them once in a while, which he did. Late in the night when most people were gone, I think we just played VH 1 - VH 2 all the way through.

That's one reason we didn't have band, none of them played any VH, just a bunch of cheesy shit I didn't want to hear. That and my wife didn't want me and all the musicians there trying to get up on stage to play every second.

"When It's Love" ( it took everything I had not to dance around while I was walking down the aisle) was my wedding song, but my marriage went straight to hell, so much for that. Lol

I also wore an EVH striped garter that I had made.

My wife had the DJ play a clip of "You Really Got Me" when I said "I Do".

I also played and sang "Not Enough" with my striped 5150 Kramer replica.

VH tunes are made for weddings and their receptions!

Since my family is full-blooded German we had a very old lady playing polka music on her organ. However, she must've known (probably through my brother in law) that I was a VH fan because she did play the opening of Jump....very briefly but she played it....cheesy baseball stadium organ style!

Anyway, I can think of alot of VH songs that would fit in the ceremony and at the reception. Kimmie mentioned one (When It's Love) and others mentioned 316.

    Good reception songs IMHO:

And the Cradle will Rock (for shotgun weddings)
Everybody Wants Some (for the horny guests at your reception)
    Dance the Night Away
Bottoms Up (rockin' version of "Roll out the Barrells")
Hot For Teacher (for teachers getting married)
It's About Time (for older couples)
    Can't Stop Lovin' You
    So This Is Love?
    Love Walks In
Spanked (at the end of the reception just before going off to the honeymoon)

That's my one regret is that we DID hire a cheesy cover band who couldn't play the most simple requests. At least my father-in-law paid them, not me.

No VH at my wedding but we did have "Achy Breaky Heart" played at least a few times.

    Outta Love Again
    Fools
    Push Comes To Shove
    Hear About It Later
    Sinner's Swing!
    One Foot Out The Door
Where Have All The Good Times Gone!
    Intruder
    Secrets
    Mine All Mine

LOL...Not a problem at all!! I love it!! Most of them pretty much sum up my marriage, and "Happy Trails" describes perfectly the way I felt when I kicked his sorry ass out!!

My friend Shelly walked down the aisle to "Love Walks In". It was great. The lady who played piano for it did an outstanding job. I gave her the sheet music and a copy of the song and she took it from there. She made a great arrangement and put in a lot of cascading arpeggios. Classy and classic.

We had Not Enough, and later on Finish What Ya Started and Danicing In The Street.

My whoel wedding was kind overshadowed by my father who had passed away 2 months prior. My batchelor party was very low key which was fine with me and I remember watching more of the Patriots pre-season game that was on instead of the strippers.
