    Default Got Padauk?

Sorry, not much to see at this point ...
The body has since been routed (1 Humbucker), drilled, and endured several coats of Tru-Oil and steel wool treatments.

The neck will be maple (strathead) with an ebony fretboard.
An original Floyd Rose (gold) with all gold hardware (still looking for a gold D-Tuna) and a Seymour Duncan TB-59 humbucker.

Sort of an EvH/Nuno hybrid with a touch of "bling".

    More pics to follow ...

    Thanks guys.

I just need to put some finishing touches on a few things before final assembly.
Should be done in the next couple weeks.

    UPDATE

    * The body's just about finished ... I had to steam out a few dents, do some sanding, add several coats of Tru-Oil and steel wool treatments, but it's looking pretty good.

    * Note the Linn Ellsworth tummy cut ... not only does it look cool, but it's extremely comfortable.

    * The potentiometer was a little stiff, so I tore it apart and modified it to practically zero friction. Much better!

    * Added a brass big block to the OFR

    * Added solid brass eyelet hooks in keeping with the theme of all the gold hardware.

    * Fabricated a control cavity cover (still need to drill out the holes).

I have a bunch of neckplates being engraved with my logo, but it may take awhile and I really don't want to hold up the project any longer. The combination of the ebony neck on this guitar and the red padauk really looks beautiful. Should have it all put together and wired up sometime next week.
    Finished pics to follow.

I've wondered about this, Dino. The pots on all my Wolfgangs have always been "fast" and move with little trouble. A LOT of the pots I've bought for my custom guitars have been very stiff--which drives me nuts because I ride the volume like crazy when I play. How do you clean it to take away the friction?

Bend the (4) tabs on the pot casing and remove it.
The insides of these pots may vary but the principal is the same ...
You may find a type of "grease" inside ... I remove it. I'm sure it's there to help preserve the life of the pot, but my thinking is that it causes drag.
Then locate the contacts and contact plate and, with a jewelers screwdriver, carefully bend the contacts away from the plate to relieve more friction. Be careful when doing this as not to totally disconnect the contacts from the plate. Then saturate the pot in some electronics contact cleaner and reattach the casing. In some cases, the casing itself is crimped too tight and causes the insides to bind up. If this is the case, simply bend the tabs to help relieve the pressure.

Once you get tear the pot apart, alot of this will make more sense.

    WOW! ... That looks badass!

Do you know what type of pickup that is?
Was he not happy with the '59 or was he just going for a different "look"?
