Well the much awaited Gwinnett Arena show finally happened. Set list was the same as expected, Dave and Ed seemed to get along well. Alex kicked ass. Wolfgang played the bass, I watched him all night. We sat in F7 and it was pretty damn loud. Only gripe was that the vocals were too low at times as was the guitar. From the videos I saw from before the went on "break", Ed is playing alot better. It wasn't a sellout but pretty close. I'll post some pics in the morning once I can hear. I had a great time though.

Default What happened to "Little Guitars"?

Great show, they were tight as ever. Pretty much the same as has been mentioned, however I noticed during the show that Eddie was fiddling with his pedals like something was wrong.

Little Guitars was not in the set. They went straight from Little Dreamer to Jamie's Cryin'. Made me wonder if some effect needed in LG flipped out.

Also-=has EVH been playing with a wired set up all tour? When did he abandon wireless?

And yes, CROSSROADS was in the set, in the middle of "Somebody Get Me A Doctor." Maybe that's replaced LG?

Ed has always been wireless up to 1997, I don't know why all of sudden he hates his sony wireless. I guess he thinks the wireless sucks tone and loss of signal, but why after all these years of using a wireless would you go back to a cord in 2004 ? His live tone sound was great before he dumped the sony units.

What can I say? Awesome show! In the Pit, 2nd Row, center. The band was tight! Most memorable? Eddie singing his ass off the whole show. I was at three shows in 2004 and I don't remember him singing on but maybe a handful of songs. His background vocals were all over the songs all night long (sometimes I think to coach or prod Dave along sometimes. ).

It was good to see Dave being Dave again. He gave a short story about listening to an Atlanta gospel radio station.

Wolf played and sang his heart out. Only gripe is that he needs to practice pitching his picks. It took him about a dozen tries before he finally got a pick to the 10 year old kid next me? His vocals weren't piped in. It'd be noticeable when he's singing with Eddie in Eddie's mic. However, his vocals do go through some kind of processing.

    Overall: Awesome. I'd do it again...and again....again....

Sorry Kimmie and Crew ...Eddie wouldn't take his shirt off.

Aw man! I guess you can't have everything. That's ok, I'd rather take his shirt off myself anyway. That'd be like opening up the greatest present I've ever gotten in my life!!!

I'm not happy about this Edward, NOT happy!!

Sorry for the disruption people.....back to reviews.

We had a great time. This was our third show and thank goodness, there weren't any of the technical problems that plagued the Atlanta show. We were front row in the pit this time.

Ed looks and sounds great, Wolf played well, Alex was Alex and Dave was Dave. The story going into "Ice Cream Man" was different this time -- it was his lesson in flat-pickin'. Dave made a lot more eye contact with individuals in the crowd than I'd expected.

We took about 200 pictures ... tons of good ones of Ed and a real fun one of Dave and Wolf. I'll post some as soon as I have time to upload them.

We ended up with one of Wolfie's stray picks. He threw quite a few!

Kudos to the camera guy who tossed the 11-year-old behind us a set of ear plugs before the show started.

Wow, this was possibly the best VH show I ever seen. Far better this time than in Charlotte and Atlanta (Philips Arena). Ed was on fire all night and didn't miss a lick. I was really impressed with his solo on Hot for Teacher, and even more impressed with his background vocals. Dave interacted great with the crowd and camera's, and Wolf and Al played great all night long. Ed did mess with his guitar cable some, and I saw him tweak some knobs on his effects pedals. The mix was dead on. You could tell everyone was happy to be there, especially the band. Can't wait for some new music, cause they're definitely at the top of their game....

    Duluth Review Great Show

Yeah Van Halen was on last night. Crossroads was incredible - the crowd didn't seem too into the show I thought that was kinda lame. The energy was kinda missing. They looked and sounded phenomenal though, just a shame the rest of the crowd wasn't into it, I think they would've played longer. Was in the pit at Philips and just had F section tickets this time actually thought overall this show was better. They were definitely tight, Eddie was really on. It was a blast, disappointed its over and probably going to try to catch another one before it ends knowing VH no telln when they will come back around again. Van Halen rocked gwinnett last night. Great show
