    Default Why "Little Guitars"?

Why of all songs, cut this one? It's a "rarity" that the hard core fans love and it sounds great live--always has. I just don't understand why they'd cut this number when a song like "Little Dreamer" has been mediocre throughout the entire tour. Your thoughts...

My vote would be to ax "Little Dreamer" from the set and put "Little Guitars" back in.

Difficult to play as compared to others?

One (actually two, counting Wolfgang's) less guitar for the "incompetent" technical staff to handle?

Only the band knows for sure. With extended versions of "Magic Bus" and "Crossroads" now, maybe they felt they needed to cut a song to keep the overall set length the same? Or maybe they felt the setlist was too long to begin with? Not that I agree with the decision to cut it!

Little Dreamer was the low point of the concert for me as well--real momentum killer. I have a feeling that it's a personal favorite of Dave's since he performed it on his solo tours as well.

Although Little Guitars is one of my top five VH songs, for whatever reason I didn't think it translated as well live either time I saw them. Just didn't sound right to me.

Don't get me started... I might shed a little tear.

At my show, I was on pins and needles waiting for Dave to call out, "I hear drums!!!!" before my favorite intro of all time made my heart start pounding. But sadly, it never happened...

They need to ditch I'll Wait and/or Jump. Next on my list to get the axe- Little Dreamer.

Therefore I'll post an homage to the latest casualty of the tour... Check it out-

Complete guess here but maybe there is something wrong with Ed's little guitar and he doesn;t have a backup for it.

    Most plausible theory, unfortunately.

The San Diego version was a highlight, only trumped by Cradle. Sounded great.

At Tiger Jam in Vegas, Little Guitars was the one weak link performance-wise in the set list. They just were not nailing it and I can't put my finger on why, but I do remember that the guitar part at the end sounded way off - the tone was really off and Ed seemed really sloppy and not in time - hard to describe, but it was not right at all. The reason it struck me is that he absolutely nailed everything else for the other 2 hours of music. Anyone else notice that in the first 7 shows since the break?

Too bad because I love this song too. I will miss hearing it on Friday in Atlantic City.... unless they bring it back...............

As others have noted, Roth's voice is shot right now. Sine he gives what appears to be his all on this song, maybe they had to cut it for that reason.

I remember at the Mohegan Sun show one of my friends texted me to say, "Holy shit, Little Guitars". If it stays out of the setlist that will suck but hey whatever. I'm just glad they are sounding great and still rocking. 2 more weeks for me and I'll be rocking out too.

That's what I think, as it's not a particularly difficult tune to play, ESPECIALLY compared to a tune like "I'm The One", which I STILL say is the most brutally savage tune to play in the entire VH canon.

For whatever reason, it IS sad they've dropped it since they NAILED IT in Dallas (one of the highlights for me)...

    $.02 - carry on...
