    Default The E.R. Appreciation Thread

Since we're talking tv-shows, I thought I'd start this one. Especially now that I've learned that next season will be the last for the series.

I had been re-watching season 1/season 2 DVDs the other week, and since I couldn't find any more of them for sale here I decided to download the rest. So I watched season 3 on the weekend, and god - I used to love that show so much. I think I had only followed it till season 6-7 when it used to be aired so I've never seen Benton's/Green's, let alone Carter's departure. Or Sherry Stringfield's return as a start character, so I'm gonna make up for it.

I watched some current season's episodes and I thought they were abit lame, but regardless of that it's sad to see the show go. I pretty much grew up with it, I remember being a kid and thinking "gosh, these guys are so amazing, I want to be like any of those characters when I grow up!". Well, I'm sort-of grown up now, but re-watching the episodes made me feel exactly the same way. Kinda made me re-think where I am heading with my life.

So, any *residents* in the house?

When Goose died, the show never recovered.

Still, was pretty entertaining when the helicopter first sliced off Romano's arm, then killed him the next season when it fell on him from the roof.

Read about that, now I'm desperate to see it!! Romano was a right asshole at times, but he still didn't deserve such a spielberg-ish departure.

Was Stringfield any good after she'd returned? Man, she was my very first celebrity crush ever. I've been in a teenage depression for a month after Union Station episode

Nah, Sherry was never any good the second time around. Cuter when she was younger. But then, aren't we all.

One good episode was when Marguilies left the show, her character left to join Doug with their twin girls, and there was an uncredited cameo by Big Movie Star Clooney at the end greeting her in Seattle.

Julianna is smokin' hot. Did I mention I have a thing for brunettes?

Another good post Clooney-Edwards departure story arc - Carter and Kovatch in Africa. Good stuff there.

Once upon a time I worked in a record store, and ended up staying there for about three years. All that time I made some very cool and close friends. After about the 2 year mark.....they started to leave. About one a month, little by little. Finally, I looked around and saw that no one I knew when I had started was left. Then I left too.

That's kinda how I feel about this show. All my friends are gone. I pretty much stopped watching after Dr. Greene died.

My favorite episode is still "Hell and High Water".

That scene was shot in Kirkland Wa, a small suburb about 20 minutes outside of Seattle. That house is right on Lake Washington Blvd.

My favorite episode was when Ewan McGregor guest starred as a convenience store robber and Julianna Margolies was one of his hostages.

I also loved the suprise Clooney cameo when, god i can't remember her charaacter's name right now, left. And the episodes in which "Goose" was with Rachel and dying. Also the episode in which Ella swallowied Rachel's pills.

Am I the only one who really liked the Dr. Romano character? Sure he could be a bastard -- a really, really big bastard -- but he really showed "heart of gold" with "Lizzie." The episodes when he counseled her after she finds out that Mark has cancer again. And on her wedding day, when Mark was delayed. And when he got her Ben and Jerry's and a pizza.

The character I really hated was Lucy Knight. The two-part episode when Carter and her were stabbed was another great one.

My wife is a HUGE fan of the show. I like the show but nowhere near as much as her. I do think that it's run it's course. How many doctor-doctor or doctor-nurse sexcapades can they go through?

The whole Romano thing with the helicopters was total "jump the shark" material.

Used to be a huge fan, not so much anymore. When Wyle's character left, it pretty much left it as the Abby and Luka show. I'll watch next season just to see how things wind up, but the show hasn't been the same for quite a while now.

Oh yeah, Romano. Best part about him dieing was when Weaver took the money he left the hospital and opened a clinic for the gay and lesbian community.

Oh yeah. Never quite liked her character that much. She seemed to excel at getting under Ross's and Green's skin. I have to admit, I was somewhat sad when her character moved off to Miami though.

There are so many rumors about old characters returning for the final season, one is left wondering what to believe. The only one verifiable is that Carter will be back for something like 5 or 6 episodes.

There are already spoilers coming out for the final season though. If interested, you can find them at
    http://www.fanforum.com/f15/er-spoil...0/index10.html

I have found the info there to be about 90% accurate, but beware if you do not want to know what is going to happen next season, especially because of all the expected plot twists of a final season.

Yes, she had several affairs on the show. Her and her lover had a kid (the lover was the surrogate) on the same day as...maybe Corday. Then the lover got killed, then there was big drama as her lover's family fought for adoption of the kid. Too much information?

No it's not! I love spoilers, at least in the written form.

BTW is it freaky that I always had a thing for Weaver :| ? There's just something about Laura Innes' character that used to drive me mad about her.
