    Default If there's a DVD...

If there is a new live DVD/CD coming after this tour (hoping), who do you think would be best to handle all the mixing, mastering, etc...?
Do you have a favorite studio producer, or other technician who would do the best job?
I thought the RHRN stuff was fairly well done as far as sound quality/clarity.
Who would do a good job this time?
(assuming Ed will allow anyone else to touch it...)

RHRN sounded great, but I hate how they mixed the vids from two seperate nights. Even during Ed's Jump solo, they used the audio from one and the video from the other. That pissed me off. So I hope they don't use that style. I'm sure they won't.

LWAN is great, sounds amazing, excluding the fact that Sammy's guitar is way louder than Ed's on the tracks when they play together. Obviously the video quality isn't great but I don't think they were too worried about recording in 2008 high-def in 1986.

I think if they do a vid they will use the footage that you would've seen on the big screen if you were at the concert, which is cool with me. I think it was the Sacremento show where a local news station showed clips from the concert, proving that they are taping and saving the footage that the camera crew gets.

IMO, RHRN sounds pretty bad. Way too much added reverb. I don't listen to it often but, from memory, it sounds like a compressed, overly echoey mess.

I'm sure any release from this tour would sound much better. For a start, I doubt a release from the current tour would have RHRN's excessively large drum sound. The only problem would be that a 2008 release would no doubt be compressed and brickwall limited to death, just like the majority of other current releases. It's for this reason that I'd hope somebody like Steve Hoffman or Vic Anesini would master it, but I doubt that would happen, just like I doubt we'll hear a live album -- or see a live DVD -- from this tour.

I too don't like the sound on RHRN, and the DVD is just God awful. LWAN is ten times better.
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

If they make a DVD please don't use multiple shows like RHRN and splice the footage.

Agreed 100%. And a producer will be Ed and Al. You kidding? They will not let anyone touch it. But,,,,,IMO,, Andy Johns was there best producer. Is he still alive? Heard he was quite the Gin and Tonic guy.At any rate,,,I would be more interested in the 'Special Features' part of the disc. A behind the scenes with VH?

Nah, they'll probably only give half the show with no bonus features, kinda like they did with LWAN.

LWAN is an awesome show, but had so much potential to be a better product. Put the FULL show on one disc, release a second disc with "Unleashed" and various other videos on there.

Anyone with hopes of a VH DVD from this tour may be disappointed. We'll see if we actually GET one first, and if we do (which would be shocking enough), I doubt there will be anything special other than the show itself (if they decide to put the whole thing on there).

Why did they cut a few songs? Has anyone seen them?

Whatever your opinion of previous DVDs...
    Who's your favorite studio producer?
Who would do the best job with the sound mixing?

I think those songs are stashed way in the back if the 5150 vaults. They played Wild Thing, Good Enough, You Really Got Me, and Dreams. No one knows why they were cut, I heard the audio of a couple of them and they sounded outstanding.

Bruce Fairbairn was their best producer in my opinion. He also produced the AC/DC Live album from the early 90s, which absolutely smoked.

    RIP Bruce.
