They also thought Led Zeppelin and it's fan-base were pretty much losers in the 70's, then did a 180 during the 90's. So there is a consistency of "flip-floppage" from the rag.

Just say no to aging hippies.

“You’ve got to understand, the only thing Rolling Stone magazine is good for is when you take a good-ass shit and you wipe your ass with it. You’ve got a bunch of yuppie-ass, hack, wannabe musicians that never made it and they’re working for a punk-ass, shit, scumbag magazine. Their pulse on what the fuck is cool is fucking pathetic. Everyone that works at that magazine is like your yuppie, dad, old, fucking cunt-ass motherfucker that you’d like to smash in the fucking face. I’d just like to go down to the building and burn it down, you know what I mean? Just for shits and giggles.” -The One and Only Zakk Fucking Wylde
"One of the reasons I left Sabbath was because Van Halen was blowing us off the stage every night. It was embarrassing." -Ozzy Osbourne

"When I first heard "Runnin' With The Devil" on the radio, I was stunned and found myself dizzy, walking through my high school hallways thinking, "What was THAT?!"
Eddie Van Halen was so innovative and kicked so much ass, and David Lee Roth was for a time indisputably the Greatest Man in America.
If aliens came down and challenged us to a Battle of the Bands to decide the fate of Planet Earth, I would feel very confident putting early Van Halen forward as our champion." -Tom Morello

WTF ever.... Rolling Stone has long been the voice of the "re-touched" and the "pre-polished", etc.

I think Roths voice is better now than about 10 years ago. And no I dont post at the Army. He never had a great voice but it works along with the Diamond Dave shit. Rolling Stone is wrong.

Does just looking at this idiot from Rolling Stone when he's on VH1 as an "expert" make anyone else want to knock him out?
I can't stand to even look at this dweeb, much less hear his opinion about music.
I asked a ref if he could give me a technical foul for thinking bad things about him. He said, of course not. I said, well, I think you stink. And he gave me a technical. You can't trust em. -

His name is David Fricke. He occasionally writes reviews of "off the beaten path" sorts of music, usually something so hopelessly obscure that he appears "hip" by digging it up. The problem with this being that his conclusions are usually neck-snappingly incorrect, mainly because he quotes factual inaccuracies and then forms judgements based upon them. Rather than being any sort of "archivist", he clumsily befuddles what evident history exists for these deservedly forgotten groups.
