    Tube overdrive pedal help

All my pedals are MXR. GT-OD, ZW44, etc...

I want to "try" and get a Marshall style tone from my overly shitty Peavey 212.

How well does something like the Tonebone Plexitube re-create that sound?

I have narrowed it down to three that i might want.

    1. Tonebone PLexitube
    2. Womanizer
    3. Seymour Duncan twin tube classic.

From demos i think the twin tube classic sounded great online and has 2 tubes.

...but this is where your feedback will help. Remember i have a shitty transtube 212 Peavey so Im not sure if this is attainable for a Marshall like tone.

for a marshall like tone you really need a more british amp setup if that makes sense (ecc83 preamp and el34 power amp) you can get a marshally kinda tone from your peavey but theres no magic box that will do it. the tonebone is a phenominal pedal, the one's i have played all sound amazing, honestly i couldn't recomend them enough. you could always hunt down a marshall guv'nor pedal that would be a good starting block or an ibanez ts-9 tube screamer, as for the other pedals you mentioned i wouldnt like to say because im not familiar with them. also dont be fooled by the online demo's it may well sound totaly different on your amp at home.
hope this was of some help.

If you can Ebay for an old Tubeworks overdrive unit, I still have mine and it sounds great, more an overdrive then distortion unit which sounds like what you want.

The tonebone pedals are great. They seem to help any amp that's a tad anemic. I use, sell, and recommend them.

i love the seymour duncan. Before that I used the Buddah overdrive. I've been using the duncan for over a year and it provides me with everything I need, from a slight crunch to full out dirt.
