Now THIS Is Rare...Who Knew VH Ever Played "Growth" Live?

Remember that little tease at the end of "WACF"? I wasn't aware that the band ever bothered to play it live, yet here is an altogether crummy bootleg recording of it...

I thought they played it before their encores in 1984. I have a couple boots of them playing it. I never thought it was rare.

I used to have this as an mp3 on the cd I made about 6 years ago of VH live oddities. It would have been awesome to hear a full song out of it. Perhaps if they EVER get back in the studio, we'll hear a completed version.

    Its not RARE at all.

VH often played this during their encores usually before Aint Talkin Bout Love or some other song.

Yep. It was usually cut much shorter than in the clip you posted Craig.

Well, it's pretty darned rare to me, as I thought that at this point I'd heard near everything. And compared to "Jump" or "You Really Got Me", it certainly is rare, so there.

I would love to see them do something with that song with today's band and I bet it would work into a very radio friendly song.

The played this often as the intro to the encore....This clip sounds like its off the 5150 tour.
I dont see VH ever going back and finishing that song. Its something the fans would enjoy why do that.

It was played on the 5150 tour, I saw them do it in Worcester MA 8/86. On The Unreleased CDs (Un-CD's), it's listed as the 9th song on Disc 3, dated 8/15/86 - I saw them on the 11th and 14th, believe it was the second show that they also did it.

The song was supposed to start the next album after WACF, they decided to go in a different direction.

Damn that was some good weed that night, I don't remember it.
