Default Movies everybody has seen....that you have NOT seen

I met someone over the weekend who is about 35 years old who told me they'd never seen Jaws before. Yeah, I all but fell off my bar stool because I don't know how that's humanly possible (especially because it could be my favorite movie of all time.)

But here's my claim to fame: I've never seen Star Wars or any of the sequels. I remember in 1985 or so I watched the Empire Strikes Back for about 20 of the most painful minutes of my life before shutting it off. It absolutely did nothing for me and I thought it sucked beyond belief. I have no desire to ever see them and it's doubtful anyone could ever talk me into seeing them.

Also never saw a minute of any of the Batman movies that came out in the 90's with Michael Keaton or Val Kilmer.

I have a friend who takes pride in never having seen Top Gun.

Me? I've never seen one minute of any of the Lord of the Rings movies.

I'm right there with ya. Couldn't sit through 5 minutes of the TV show and sure as hell never cared about the movie franchise. God awful in my opinion.

I finally watched Lawrence of Arabia the whole way through about a month ago. I'd only seen bits and pieces for years.

OH. MY. LORD. I just about fell outta my chair. That's like saying you've never seen the Godfather!!!

as far as Citizen Kane - just seen bits and pieces. Never seen Lawrence of Arabia.

somebody else mentioned Lord of the Rings - never seen them, nor want to. Same with the Harry Potter movies. And the Batman/Spiderman flicks...guy stuff all the way. Not puttin' them down, but totally a guy thing, if you ask me.

But aren't we excused from Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter because of our age? Maybe I'm wrong, but aren't those aimed at 10-18 year olds or so? I can't fault anyone in their 30's or older for skipping those.

But when you start talking Top Gun, It's A Wonderful Life, Star Wars, or Star Trek for people our age then I'd say it's pretty remarkable (and funny) that we've gone this long having never seen them.

Same here.....add all the Godfathers to the list and Fargo as well. Seems like everyone has seen that one.

Also all the Harry Potter flicks except the first (and I dont even remember that one so I may as well have not seen it at all).

My wife is my age and has never seen E.T. Try being 11 years old in '82 and not seeing E.T.!! I don't know how that happened.

I've never seen all of Top Gun. Just bits and pieces.. I kind of stopped watching movies in the 90's for whatever reason and missed Pulp Fiction and, like DD, all the BATMAN stuff.
