    Default Cabo Wabo Tequila

Okay, so as many of you know I paid $96 for a bottle of Cabo Reposado last fall. It is ludicrously cheaper in the states and possibly cheaper in Western Canada as well. Is it illegal to ship liquor to Canada from the U.S.? If not I was wondering if anyone would be to help me with this endeavor. Thanks folks,

Dude, I can help. I work for an airline here in Vancouver and I spend a good deal of time in Cancun, where I buy my Cabo Wabo for a fraction of the price. I always bring a bottle or two back from every trip, let me know what you need.

I wish I had seen this before I went to Cozumel. I just brought a bottle of Anejo back for $44 and could have brought a second bottle and sold it to you for a mere $64.

My cousin brought back a bottle of CaboWabo Reposado back from Mexico. I haven't opened it yet. Any tequila fans out there give me an opinion? Take your allegiance to Sammy out and tell me how it compares to other tequilas?

I've heard there are better than it, but I personally have yet to experience anything better. Beats Cuervo or Salza by a fucking mile, you can't even compare the cheap stuff to premium.

From what I have heard and experienced, people will just have a preference of a Patron reposado or Don Julio over Cabo Wabo. Anyone who has had the Cabo Añejo says it's one of the best they've tasted. I did try a tequila called Clase Azul that is a reposado and I prefer it to the Cabo Wabo reposado.

Here is a picture of the Clase Azul. They also have an extra añejo that sells for close to $1200 a bottle.

I love the Cabo Wabo. The best sipping tequila is Porfidio.
I don't have a cool signature. Deal with it!

Good Lord! Anyone bid on this one!

World's most expensive Tequila fetches $225,000
    By Chris Mercer

24-Jul-2006 - A private collector has shelled out $225,000 for a bottle of 'ultra-premium' Tequila, making it the most expensive in the world - but not for long.
It is a fair way from the sort of Tequila downed by people in bars all over the world with the traditional salt and lemon slice.

But Tequila Ley.925, the producer of the $225,000 liquor, says it wants to open a new avenue for expensive, high quality Tequila targeted at connoisseurs and society's elites.

Its $225,000 (€178,000) bottle of Pasion Azteca Tequila is a measure of how much some will pay.

"This is a really unique bottle of Tequila and our client, a US-based collector of fine wines and spirits, will treasure this prize to add to an already impressive collection," said Fernando Altamirano, CEO of Tequila Ley .
    925.

And the company, which is now 10 years old and makes only limited edition, 100 per cent Mexican Tequila, is already planning to top its $225,000 sale.

Those with deep pockets should mark down the 21 March 2007 in their diaries, when Tequila Ley plans to auction a bottle of Pasion Azteca, plated with gold, platinum and diamonds, valued at $1m. The auction will take place in London.

Both the auction and the completed $225,000 sale put Tequila well ahead of 'ultra premium' rivals in other spirits sectors.

The $38,000 asking price for the world's most expensive whiskey, reported by Forbes in June, looks like a veritable bargain in comparison.

Mezcal is better than Cabo Wabo! Eat the worm and give yourself good luck! You won't get that in any Hagar bottle.

and, I'd still prefer some single malt whiskey if the truth be told

    From the internets...

"Technically, tequila is a type of mezcal, but mezcals are not tequilas.

There are 136 species of agave in Mexico, of which the blue agave - agave tequilana weber azul - is the only one allowed for use in tequila production. Several different species of agave are allowed for use in mezcal, including a rare wild species, tobala. Other agave plants are used for the production of various regional drinks like sotol, raicilla, bacanora and pulque. Agave has been cultivated on this continent for at least 9,000 years.
