Default What's your Van Halen classification?

    How would you label yourself?

Dave Or The Grave - You support David Lee Roth exclusively, solo albums etc etc... you do not support Van Halen without David Lee Roth.

Ed Head - You support all eras of Van Halen mostly. You basically will support any lineup Eddie Van Halen calls Van Halen... and agree with whatever Eddie Van Halen says... no matter how much he lies or disses former band members.

M(I)A - You support all the eras of Van Halen with MA, including his ventures with Sammy Hagar. You Put MA above Eddie Van Halen, and some might even boycott this current tour.

The Neckbrace Club -You support Alex first... why... I have no fucking clue.

Sammy Hagar redheads etc etc - You support Sammy Hagar in Van Halen... you may even like the Roth Era... but you definately take Sam's side over Eddie Van Halen's lying ways... Some may boycott this tour because Sammy Hagar isn't involved.

Church Of Cherone - Yes... there are still some fags cryin' about how great Van Halen III, was better than all the other Van Halen albums.

    Where do you stand???

    I'm obviously a Rothtard with a twist of M(I)A...

Being Michael Anthony is my 2nd favorite member of Van Halen...

Because he's been a class act...
And Ed's been a fucking asshole as far back as I can remember...
A true alcoholic... always tryin' to shift the blame on anyone but himself...
I'm not tryin' to downplay his legendary guitar status... he's the best ever...
    period...

But like David Lee Roth said himself....
"Eddie Van Halen without a guitar in his hand, is a miserable human being!"

Or like what Howard Stern said to Eddie in 1998...
"After spending 5 minutes with you... i'm siding with the lead singers!"

I am a Ed head! I don't think I would follow the band if they went on without him.

So Basically, you went along with the Brad Starks...

Van Halen is Van Halen bullshit?

Did you have your fingers crossed for Patty Smyth in 1985??

Did you find yourself sexually aroused with the David Coverdale rumors in 2000?

I'm a Redhead through and through. I support a Sammy Fronted VH, however, I love the DLR era music as well. I will always take Sammy's side over Ed's on any topic(Sam is usually sober when making a point). I did boycott this tour, but that was because Mikey was not there. I would have been there, with bells on, if it had been Mike holding down the low end.

I don't hate anyone in the VH camp, but I will always support what Sammy does, just because he's so down to earth and friendly to the fans that make his lifestyle possible.

WARF you make me feel young again. Every time I read one of your threads, I feel like it's 1987 again.

    SOME VH LINKS CLASSICS

"Sammy is fat, Dave is bald, Mike is next in line to be the Pope, Eddie is a drunk, Wolfie is fat, Gary is gay, CVH is VH, Mike is VH, Sammy can outsing Dave on a tequilla hangover, Eddie is a meth head, How Many Say I is the worst VH song ever, Up for Breakfast is a close second, Dave was horrible at radio and everybody hates the assless chaps.
Ok I think that covers everything." Ziggysmalls

"I sense that some of our newer passengers may be nervous due to the sudden turbulence. Please be seated, this is simply a normal part of the periodic ride.
I didn't say we'll get to the destination, but until Alex comes out a says what a complete waste of carbon DLR is, we're still climbing, so strap yourselves in.
Those of you who have been on this ride before, the hottie in the mini will be around shortly with your drinks......." Red

I like all of them, I feel like Cherone's stint was short lived and who knows what they could have accomplished. I think that all of them together have done some amazing things for Rock-N-Roll

How many times have you run this poll over the years?

You forgot a category. The main category when it comes to Van Halen fans, in fact, the category that 90% of all Van Halen fans fall into.

    1. The Dave/Sam Dualist. Van Halen is Ed, Alex, Mike, Dave, or Sam. Period, end of story. Likes both eras. Likes both singers. Finds pros and cons with each era. Will not accept any variations outside of the five core participants, including new singers and bass players. Rejects all other incarnations, including VH 3 and VH 4.

In other words, fans of the 10 true core albums of Van Halen.

Also, you misquoted your classification of the M(I)A contingent. The proper term, evidently, is 'The Mike Navy.' Which is even gayer than fucking David Lee Roth at gunpoint.

I'm another that doesn't really fit into any of the classifications. I have, and continue to prefer the DLR era over any other. But, I like select track of the Sammy years. My iPod ratio of DLR era VH to Sammy era VHmusic is roughly 8 to 1, so I guess that says a lot.

Mike? Yeah, I want to see him back in the band, likely will never happen, but then again I'd said that about DLR fronting as well.

Cherone? That's a flaming bag of crap I just won't deal with at all.

Dave exclusively as the singer, don't care for either Hagar or Cherone. And Mike is the bassist for Van Halen, always will be regardless of Edweird's decision to oust a founding member solely for his playing alongside Hagar during the down time years. How petty of him imo. I don't refer to Mike as "bassplayer" as some do, because that's stupid. It wasn't his fault necessarily for how things panned out. Had Ed chose to move the band forward a few years ago, Mike would have been there without question. I support the original lineup and they only. I want nothing to do with any other version, never have, never will.

So I don't know where exactly that puts me with this question? Dave or the grave, yeah, probably. With Mike there too.

What about the Billy Sheehan Brigade, which consists of those who think the last 20 years could have been so much better with Billy Sheehan, sweatbands and a nice hot pink bass?

What about the Mitch Malloy Miragers, who ponder the what if's of a different 3rd singer? Then there's the Bang Bang Warriors, the Patti Smythe crew; the Dio Elfin Magic Force, those who want the Pint-Sized PowerHouse himself.......

Christ, what's a man to do?
