I'm curious to know how many folks here on the Links have seen VH on every tour from '78 thru '08.

My first show was in '88 so I ain't one of them.

the funny thing is most I would say 50% to 60% did not see dave with Vh till this yr. And a lot of VH fans did not go to the 1st few Sammy VH shows I did not see Sammy till 2004. I was stupid and did not want to see Him with VH even if I liked the music. But that's the past. But I would think very very few people say every tour, but that would be cool.

As you can see by my sig, I gave up on seeing VH live after Dave left, but I made every effort to get to see them back then, although not always successful. I was interested in seeing the F.U.C.K. tour, but being recently married and trying to buy our first home kept me from doing so.

I would say 1981 the Fair Warning. They were a well oiled machine at that time. The friction was beginning and the music was potent..

I can't believe they played "Dirty Movies" in '81. Dave said they did on one of his radio shows a couple of years ago when a caller asked, but I thought we was just saying that mistakenly (he's not always accurate). One of my favorite non-hits...guess they did. Wonder how many times, and wonder if the "Drop Dead Legs" rumor of NYC '84 is true as well. I also heard a rumor of them playing "Push Comes to Shove" in '81.

    Default VH tours...

Saw Van Halen their first tour by accident, they were opening for Sabbath at the New Haven Coliseum and BLEW THE ROOF OFF OF THE PLACE!!!

When the launched "On Fire"...it was instant energy...Eddie's solo had everyone just looking around going "WHOA!!!"...

When Sabbath hit the stage, Iommi was having guitar problems that night. They tuned his guitar, and retuned it after two failed attempts to launch into "Symptom of the Universe"...finally after almost 20 minutes, with Ozzy at the mike going "I am sorry, kids, this happens sometimes", over 30 times, Iommi kicked it into gear and they did "War Pigs"... Sabbath was no match for the ass kicking VH put on stage...

I also saw VH in 1981 at New Haven headlining the "Fair Warning" tour and don't remember them doing "Dirty Movies"...Eddie gigged "Sunday afternoon in the Park", then launched right into "Romeo Delight", but I didn't catch "Dirty Movies" or "Push comes to shove".....
