    Default Thd hotplate

anyone used these? for awhile i have used a palmer pdi-03. time has gone by and the kid is getting abit older and my ears are too. i order i thd to try it out. just got it today. great little unit. my only problem is the light on the front dosent come on at all and it seems the fan dosent kick on when i play like it says it should. anyone know much about them? i know i can send it back and get a replacement. so far i think it does a great job and fills that little void the palmer dosent do and thats attenuate.

I think it is great, I want to buy one for my house. You can replace the LED and the fans don't usually come on until you crank the fuck out of your amp.

I use one with my Dual Rectifier. The lights on mine come on when I'm playing extremely hard. For guitar lessons and such, it doesn't light up. I'm not truely convinced it is the end all attenuator, but it fits the price range and seems to preserve the attitude of the amp.

I use the Hotplate on my 5150 combo and, while it isn't perfect, it works very well. The messages about the lights and the fan are right: you have to be attacking the strings and cranking the amp for everything to show up!
