Default The van halen 3d imax film ie U2

I just got back from the imax U2 3d show. Unbelievable visuals. Just forget about wether or not you like U2 or the music. It is worth going just for the spectacle IMO. Now just fantasize about VH doing something like this when they were in their prime for a second.....hell, even now if they could put a few good shows back to back.....k, back to reality

    That would be aaahhhhhmazing.

I'd love to check out the U23D thing. I'm a fan- Unfortch, I usually get motion sick when I watch a 3D movie in iMax. I know, I'm a wuss...

Ask yourself one question. Would the fans like it? If yes, hell, no.

Seriously, it would be awesome. But I am sure that 1/2 of VH doesn't want to be seen in 3D, 1/4 WANTS to be 3D all of the time with midgets and the Damm Triplets, and 1/4 is hanging on for the next show.
I don't have a cool signature. Deal with it!

Won't happen. That would mean that Van Halen would have to actually give something back to their fans.

Although it would be nice to see the '81 tour that way. In my dreams!

Maybe back in the day this would have been a good idea. But I don't think High Def would be kind to Ed's leather skin or Dave's grimace.

I hate preachy rock stars, but I give U2 a lot of credit for how they've managed their career.

I went to see this earlier in the week.........amazing. As much as some peolple don't like U2 (I HATED them until I seen them on the ZOO TV tour) - you have to see them live to appreciate how good they are.......awesome songs, awesome show and plenty of stuff to make the fans feel special..........

The iMaz thing was in many ways better than being at a show........at the end of every song I wanted to yell out......great stuff.... Edge is very clever, unique in his way where the guitar is completely integral / built into the song as opposed to just being a riff etc......
Ed: Actually, the last record I bought was by a band called Brand X
Al: I make my living by viciously attacking something
    Mike: ...actually I don't drink.
    Sammy: Are these yours Eddie?
Dave: Look at that ankle - dirty girl!

I saw U23D last weekend when I was in Boston. It was incredible. I will admit that I was never a big U2 fan, and I remember watching the Vertigo show in HD about a year ago and I remember then that I liked some of the songs. I guess my only exposure to U2 has been what is played on the radio and what I saw of them at Live Aid and Live 8. Anyway, in the 3D movie, there were a few times where I actually felt like I was standing on stage next to Bono, Edge or Adam. It was very cool and the experience is worth it whether or not you like the music. The really best visual is the mike stands and how they come alive in front of the musician. After watching this movie and reading about how it was produced, I have a new appreciation for U2 and their music. They basically did this for free and not for profit as an experiment.

When has Van Halen done anything for free? 1986 Farm Aid?, and even then it was not the whole band.

Best U23D songs...Beautiful Day, New Years Day, Bullet the Blue Sky, Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own, Love and Peace or Else.

    LOL ! Me too.

I have seen U2 about 13 times since 1987. They put on an awesome show.
Very professional , united and problem free all these years.

If Van Halen had about 5% of the professionalism U2 had , I problem would have seen Van Halen 13 times all these years instead of the 3 I have seen so far this year.

U2 is my favorite band (or as the modern morons say: U2 are my favorite band). Anyway, I would love to see this as I'm sure getting tickets to a real show is next to impossible. VH should definetely do this, yes.
