Wasn't sure if this has been posted yet or not...

Looks like the Atomic Punks, the greatest DLR era Van Halen tribute band is touring in the midwest in May. Check out www.theatomicpunks.com for more information.

    May 10 - Cleveland, OH
    May 11 - Pittsburgh, PA
    May 12 - Columbus, OH
May 17 - Kansas City, MO
May 18 - St. Louis, MO
    May 19 - Indianapolis, IN
    May 31 - Andover, MN

If you are anywhere near these cities and can make the shows, it is highly recommended. These guys have Van Halen down perfect.

    No Detroit

Cleveland is the closest but that 3 hours away, that's too far for a cover band.

    Oh well!

And don't forget CHICAGO on June 1!

Some of us are having a Midwest mini-CON (like the VHML CON, only smaller) around this Punks gig. All the Chicago Linkers should show!

I was pretty excited about this, until I went to their website. At first I thought they would be playing one of Pittsburgh's many fine rock and roll clubs. A great way to spend a Saturday night. Then I go to the website , and see they are part of a tour called Fakefest playing at the 25,000 seat Post Gazette Pavillion with many other tribute bands. First off the PG pavillion is way out in the sticks. Secondly there will be a zillion other acts to sit through. I remember hearing about this tour last year, the premise is to see tribute bands of bands that dont EXIST anymore. This is a way to see them live. More good news for VH fans.
