    Default Freaky

Damn, this weekend was beautiful weather. I took a stroll downtown and was in this little square having a coffee with a buddy. It was a church bud and we were talking about church stuff. Just good conversation and I got this chill down the back of my neck. I heard this low growl from the bushes next to us and looked down to see this really hardcore snarling face of a man staring at me.... AT ME!!!! ....directly. He said "My feet are better than your hands".

    Are you serious?!

That totally flipped me out. I think he was demon possessed. I was waiting for him to start crawling on the ceiling or something.

    Damn demon possessed people!

A drunk homeless man that was in need of some metal health care. Unfortunate, but probably true seenbad.

You should have said "Okay, CATCH" and then threw a brick at his feet.

Shuts 'em up every time....well..after they stop screaming.

Probably true. Demons don't have homes in the physical sense that we know them.

I think he'd have turned it in to bats or something before it hit him.

Yeah, yet it's a literal pain in the neck to be carrying several bricks in my backpack all the time.

The City of Fort Lauderdale had until recently a unique solution to the mentally unstable homelessness problem: They were provided with free bus passes to get them off the streets. As one would imagine, this had it's drawbacks for commuters. After public outcry accompanied several uncomfortable situations, the practice was rescinded.

That sounds like some sort of bad joke yet, it is Florida you're talking about.

I assure you it was not a joke. The City cuts funding to outreach programs which provide obviously needed medications, closes shelters and soup kitchens on a regular basis, and comes up with "inspired" ideas such as mentioned above.

The funding saved by this goes toward building a new courthouse, unneeded as the current one is only 68% in use. New "structures" such as structures to be built outside the city on privately owned lqand by a few city commisioners are on the horizon as well.

    Yup, tax dollars at work.

I was on the subway in New York, dressed up to go out for the evening. I was seated on a two-seater bench, with my friend, and we were talking.

Suddenly an elderly woman, seated across from us, stood up, pointed a finger at me and screamed, "The point of your shoe is hurting my eyes!" I assure you I was not wearing mirror-toed shoes nor was my foot placed directly under the fluorescent light of the subway car. She kept screaming the same thing, over and over, and pointing. I kept shuffling my feet, finally tucking them underneath me.

Then my friend said, "Well the pitch of your voice is hurting my ears." This caused the old woman to pause and, thankfully, exit the train at the next stop.

I don't know. Maybe some mentally unstable people have a thing for feet.

If you see him again, ask him to take "I'll Wait" out of the setlist.
