Default Guitar Player Reviews Frankie Replica and 5150III

Just got this month's GP and it's got a product review of the Frankie Replica and the 5150III. Positive reviews, of course, but I've only had time to glance over it so far. The magazine is in the bathroom right now awaiting my next bowel movement so I can read more in-depth on the article.
We train dogs for cattle and sheep herding. They're very different. Sheep are a lot like supermodels - they bunch together, they rattle very easily. Cattle are like drunks at a hockey game - two will want to fight: "Who are you and what's with your badge?"

Two of them will be like: "Leave them alone, let's go see the game." Another one is lost: "Where'd you guys go?" The dog has to deal with all of that. You work them off a whistle. It's the original video game.

Van Halen reminded us last night of why we loved them in the first place. They helped us to get past all the bullshit around us and remind us to have a little fucking fun in the midst of it all. - Reckless Fable

I read mine when not on the can the other day.

I honestly don't think a review of the $25,000 Frankie was necessary; all the descriptions of it out there were more than enough to know what it was about, and the thing really wasn't made to be played.

I'm quite interested in the 5150 III now. The GP review talked about some classic Fender clean twang on the first channel, and the amp in general sounds a little more versatile than the previous two 5150 incarnations (I have both and love both--the II especially).

One interesting thing from that review, though...the output jack had to be repaired and the trem setup was all off. Kinda expect a little more for 25k...

Default My review of the new Franky

Sorry guys I do not get the whole 25,000.00 thing for a basic guitar. This is my cost breakdown of the new Fender:

    Northern Ash $20.00

    Maple $15.00

    Schallers $30.00

    Floyd Rose $140.00

    Frets $5.00

Dot inlays & side dots $1.00

    Pickups $45.00

    Potentiometer $2.00

    Switch $4.00

    Strap buttons $2.00

    Output jack and plate $5.00

    plastic pickplate $3.00

    Paint $20.

    Case $100.00

    Labor $700.

    Total $1092.00

These prices are very fare and Fender probably pays less for them. I wonder what percentage Ed gets? Is the $2500.00 retail? Is the guitar an A or B mark? Sure it's great for a doctor or lawyer but who else is buying these things?
