Judging from the clothes, I'd say this must be that infamous episode that occurred in 2003, when an inebriated and disheveled EVH showed up at NAMM. Our own lovemachine97 was there, and was one of two fellows that were quoted in the following report published at Blabbermouth around that time:

Man in 2003 he could still rip it up! 2004( near the end)...what happened?

I will say though Ed is one of the few guys I have seen who can come up with such cool riffs...while jamming.

5:43 - whenever. Listen to THAT! FUCKING AWESOME!

Amazing feel for the instrument. I love it.

I'd like to hear the "Wickedest Fuckin' Boogy" (5:33) on a new album with Roth.

Sooo tired of the evh saga... I truly wish him the best.
Hope this isn't what is going on with him in 08
I'm quite sure that all the folks on this site are rooting for evh
but, at the same time aren't holding our collective breath on seeing the Ed
of the LWAN video... That video truly brought evh to the masses like never before. I am a fan since 78 and love the original 6 albums, but I certainly
recognize the effect MTV had in 86 w/ LWAN.
As best as I can tell, that version of EVH has left the building for good.
It's kinda like Mike Tyson returning to his form of the 80's ...
YOu'd love to see him kick ass like the old days, but that ship has sailed.
And so it is w/ Ed.... Just my opinion... CV

He's playing 10X better than he did in the majority of the shows on the 2004 Tour.

He's actually improvising with some clarity and crispness as opposed to. Well look up almost any EVH Solo video from 2004.

There were some awesome riffs in there for some killer songs. It's a shame all that is sitting in tapes scattered around 5150 just begging for some order and completion. There's no question that from that point in time on he took a nose dive with his health and life. He seems to be on the upswing now, let's hope it stays that way--for him, not for us.

I saw the mess that that last show was in Tucson 04 up close and personal. I honestly thought from that point on Ed was gonna die, each time I saw a picture of him he looked worse and worse. When I saw him at Nascar last year I almost cried, he looked healthy!
I would really love to see more VH out on a CD but overall I just want him to be alive and healthy. One things for sure...you can't buy your health no matter how rich or WHO you are. I wish him health.
