    Default EBMM Axis EX

So I've looking around the net at evh guitars and learned something new and kinda cool today. Most of you may already know this but EBMM makes a Axis EX model or atleast they did, From what I can find out they are american parts but put together in Japan but i could have gotten some wrong info. Wouldn't mind getting my hands on one of these if they weren't Super high. They even offered PINK!! They look just like the evh model but no sig. Anyone here ever play or seen, or know where one could buy one??

I'm having trouble posting the pics for some reason
    Here's a ad I found

I've seen them before on eBay, but I honestly don't know much about them.
The guys on the Ernie Ball forum would probably be able to offer alot more information.

I don't know how "rare" they really are, how sought after they may be by "collectors", or how equal they are in terms of quality, but I do know what I'm getting in an EBMM EVH sig model.

I know the sig models are increasing in value and I know the quality and feel of this guitar is top notch, so why even look at something like this?

If your main concern is color, and you don't care about the "collector value", you may want to consider contacting Scott Fletcher (board member) or any other custom builder and have one built to your exact specs.

A EVH is always first on my list!! I just thought it was cool and I had never heard of these before. I was just saying if they werent real high I'd get one. I'd like to get a Series 10 dolphin and a Kimberly also. I just like having things that you don't find all the time. I kinda like to have the knock offs with the real ones. I guess i'm a little odd like that

I contacted Scott havent set anything up yet. I want to get 6 string from him and maybe try to find someone to build me a double neck like Eddie's Purple and red EBMM.

Hey. I stumbled upon that guitar a few years back and e-mailed Ernie Ball about it. You hit the nail on the head. Its US parts assembled in Japan. It is also only available to the Japan Market. It is not at all promoted or advertised as available here. They were surprised I had found anything about it and said there was no way to order one legally to the US!

There are a few rare " Non sig" EVHs out there as well !! . This was when Ed had left the EBMM company , and they had a good few guitars ready to go, but they couldnt put them out with Ed sig on the headstock. So these are the non sig EVHs, and are pretty rare !!

The quick and easy way to tell if you have an EVH non-sig, or an EX is to look at the maple top. The top on the EX was not a bookmatched figured maple top, and the U.S. made non-sig was.

The non-sig model is much more rare than the EX as far as production numbers, but I'm not sure how much value that adds to the guitar since it is considered an Axis, and not a true EVH Signature guitar. It's worth what somebody is willing to pay for it to be sure, but it will never be worth as much as the actual signature EBMM/EVH.

I have a good few EBMM EVHs , that dont have a bookmatched quilt top ! ( 17) in total . Some do have, but not all of them .

The non sig EVH models are axactly the same as the Sig models, the only differance is that there is no sig on the headstock !!

Yes, the non-sigs do have a bookmatched maple top, but I haven't seen an EX yet that does. I'm also not aware of any original EBMMs that don't have a bookmatched Maple top. Is it possible that you are not seeing the line where the two pieces of maple are joined together?

Please post a pic of one that isn't bookmatched, because as far as I know, every single EBMM/USA model with a figured maple top is a bookmatched maple top.
