Exactly - almost to the minute - one hour after the ticket says the show starts (8:30 for 7:30 shows and 9:00 for 8:00 shows)
I don't have a cool signature. Deal with it!

Or earlier. The show I went to (Little Rock) they went on exactly 50 minutes after the start time on the ticket (7:30) At exactly 8:20 VH took the stage. So get your beers early!

nassau on nov 8th, the opening band was scheduled 7:30, so I figured VH 8:30. Got there 8:25 and they were in 3rd song already

Does everyone hate the opening act that much?

Nope. People essentially want things "their way", like everything is a giant Burger King franchise. They wish to arrive, see only what they are interested in and leave. And there is nothing wrong with that. It just sounds incredibly dopey to actually ask what time the band comes on because one has more important things to do than sit through ten minutes or so of an opening act.

They come on about 20 minutes after the opening band give or take 20 minutes which is usually about an hour later than the time posted on your ticket give or take 30 minutes and lasts for about 2 hours give or take 10 minutes and ends about 3 hours after the time on your ticket give or take 20 minutes.

No. We got in our seats a little before 8 knowing VH wouldn't come on until @9. It was just too foxtrotting cold to tailgate. We tried!
Kymani Marley did a good job in Denver. He covered a couple of his dad's songs. "One Love", "No woman, No cry". He did an okay job. Some reviews I've read said he did an "uninspired" job on the covers. He came on pretty close to on-time @8PM. about a 25-30 min set if I remember correctly. THe VH blimps came out, I ran for a few more beers.

VH took the stage within 2-3 min of 9PM. I checked my cell phone memory. I have a 20 sec vid of RWTD starting at 9:08. That's the 3rd song, so youcan figure they were pretty close to 9.
A little more volume in the headphones please.

Personally, I enjoy getting buzzed in the parking lot, then feeling the buzz in the air as anticipation reaches a fever pitch. That usually requires sitting through the opening act, but that's just me.

With my seats almost at the roof, smoke was rising and there was plenty to go around!

Yeah, me too. I can't believe that people have to ask. I've been to probably 100+ concerts in my life and I've only been late for two and one was because of hell traffic and one was because I left my tickets at home and had to go back and get them. Otherwise, I'm there relatively early. The "doors open at____" disclaimer or showing 7:30 PM on the ticket usually gives you a logical idea of what time the act you want to see goes on. What the fuck is so hard about that?

And from $70 to $150 to (insert insane scalper price here) that you're paying...why risk being late and missing some of it?
We train dogs for cattle and sheep herding. They're very different. Sheep are a lot like supermodels - they bunch together, they rattle very easily. Cattle are like drunks at a hockey game - two will want to fight: "Who are you and what's with your badge?"

Two of them will be like: "Leave them alone, let's go see the game." Another one is lost: "Where'd you guys go?" The dog has to deal with all of that. You work them off a whistle. It's the original video game.

Van Halen reminded us last night of why we loved them in the first place. They helped us to get past all the bullshit around us and remind us to have a little fucking fun in the midst of it all. - Reckless Fable

You get the buzz started where and how early?

This is my worst nightmare. I always ask every 10 minutes....Do you/I have the tickets? And I check...
