Dave, but that goes back to his 2006 Tour. He really brushed up his vocal and dumbed down the crazy showmanship so it isn't so "embarrassing". He seems to be the one taking this tour most seriously, and for that I admire him, as he knows it's what he had to do.

Al is second, only because based on his performance history, it's what we've come to expect...

    Default DIAMOND DAVE

Dave, and it ain't even close.

Eddie VH will always be the single biggest reason I love rock and roll, but I've seen them three times on this tour and Ed's inconsistency is brutal.

I voted b4 checking the results.

1st - Dave. Simply awesome how he's cleaned up his vocals since I last saw him on the Sam and Dave tour.

2nd - Not to take away anything from Eddie. As Lode mentioned, after 2004 we're lucky to see him playing live and be alive. He is very impressive this tour.

3rd - Wolf. Pretty big shoes to fill, obviously. Not that he's close to filling them. He does have his own style and does fit well with his dad and uncle.

Not last, but Big Al can always be counted on to rock the house.
A little more volume in the headphones please.

Embarrassing? How so? While I agree with you that he's concentrating on his vocals more than ever, Dave is known for his showmanship. That's what a Van Halen concert should be all about. Sadly, he seems to be on a short leash these days and muzzled from interacting with the crowd. That ain't David Lee Roth.

I vote for the inflatable microphone!

I have to say DLR. I never thought he could sound this good in 2007(relatively speaking). I really wanted Ed to blow me away. He did for the most part, but I cannot get over his solo spot. You can really pick out the flaws when a man goes out there alone. Maybe some of it is boredom. If so, why the hell doesn't he play one of his supposed 100s of new tunes he has in the vaults? Al is solid as usual and Wolf is there because Ed wants it so. I feel bad for MA, but I've seen some shit on the net that have bothered me. There is a video of Sam and MA singing with a Dave impersonator in Cabo. I'm sure Sam had more to do with it than Mike, but he participated. I just think shit like that is in very poor taste. It would be like Dave bringing out a red rocker look alike during this tour and bashing him. We'd never hear the end of it. Oh, don't forget the '85 "Dave who?" shirts. Sam also ripped on Ed during the 2002 tour with Dave, if you guys recall. Sadly, people accuse Dave as being the ass. I think his handled himself better than ever on this tour. It's very smart of him not to do any press and say crap that will get him into trouble. Yeah, he flicked Wolf's cowboy hat off, but that's nothing compared to Ed's fits that we've seen on Youtube. We probably all know how annoying 16 year olds could be. So, I'm not ready to judge on that one incident. I hope they have a good night in Chicago on April 3rd! This time I'm buying a shirt. Sorry, for the long winded answer. Just BS-ing.

everything comes down to expectations for me. Dave and Al met my expectations. Ed didn't. Wolfie exceeded them. So Wolf gets my vote.

I went with Dave as well because he is the one who really has changed and adapted the most and is not the same Dave persona that we are all used to and has seemed to finally understand himself that its not 1984 anymore.

I expected Wolfgang to be good mainly because of his genetics, but the kid has impresed me but not to the same level as Dave.

If Eddie continues to say clean or atleast cleaner than he has been in recent years then maybe there is a future for Van Halen. Especially since they seem to finally all be getting along great.

Alex will always be Alex, when has he ever disappointed on tour?
