Wanna Buy A 1966 Batmobile Or The General Lee, For Real? Come To Fort Laud. Feb 15-17

"The “Collector Cars of Fort Lauderdale” will be held at the Greater Ford Lauderdale / Broward County Convention Center at 1950 Eisenhower Blvd, Fort Lauderdale, Florida on February 15 to 17, 2008...Fort Lauderdale’s “microcar” line-up is rounded out with a rare and unusual three-wheeled 1954 Reliant Regal, manufactured in Tamworth, England; an iconic, subcompact 1958 Nash Metropolitan convertible, formerly belonging to Florida celebrity, Jimmy Buffet; and a 1958 BMW Isetta, which measures just 7.5 feet in length – a little over 1/3 the size of a 1959 Cadillac Sedan at over 20 feet in length.

In addition to these small beauties, other important consignments set to cross the block include: • A 1966 Batmobile, a faithful recreation of Bat1 built on a Lincoln chassis. • A 1969 Dodge “General Lee” Charger RT, the actual car used in the 2005 blockbuster “Dukes of Hazzard” featuring Jessica Simpson and Johnny Knoxville. • Seven individual Shelby GTs, headlined by an original 1968 Shelby GT350 Convertible, which with just 26,000 miles from new and considered one of the best original Shelby examples in existence."

No kidding. Obviously these things are recreations, and some dimwit with more money than brains will overbid and drive off feeling good about himself, not realizing he just bought a phony.
They do look quite cool, however.

(And naturally, this being a "hoity toity"-type "Auction" the site will not allow picture sharing. )

That Dukes of Hazzard movie was complete crap. That movie gaves the Dukes a bad name. No vehicle that appears in that movie is worth crap compared to the real General Lee that was in the TV show.

I'm not overly politically correct, but wouldn't driving around in a car with a giant rebel flag painted on the roof be considered offensive to certain segments of the public? Forget about Boss Hog, try doing that in Harlem.
