    Default Steve Lukather background vocals?

didn't he say in 2004 when they put out "it's about time" that he sang on that tune, and plenty of olther van halen songs? wasn't his comment like "any van halen song ive sang on went straight to number 1" jokingly or something? if so what songs did he sing background vocals on?

"It's About Time," "Top Of The World," and several others I can't think of right now. Luke and Ed have been friends for years.

I think Steve did do backing vocals on It's About Time and Up for Breakfast (maybe)....

Steve sang background vocals on "Top Of The World", "Not Enough" and "It's About Time". He may have also contributed to Van Halen III.

“And what we have at our fingertips is arguably one of the greatest high tenor voices ever – that was in Michael Anthony. In our tiny little corner of the universe, that voice is as identifiable as the high voice in Earth, Wind & Fire, as identifiable as the high voice in the Beach Boys. Van Halen is an indelicate house blend of both – that’s intentionally. So I would always look forward to that reunion.” - David Lee Roth

Who do you think Ed is? Ace Frehley?

I remember reading an interview somewhere a few years ago, possibly from Melodicrock.com, where Lukather himself squashed those rumours.

That's the funny thing about Ed. He's an alcoholic so you'd think others would have played on records, but he's such a perfectionist (or at least was) that you know it's him.

A little more volume in the headphones please.

Looks like Luke ate all the pies.....

Great guitarist though. Anyone who can pull off an outro jam like Rosanna deserves a lot of respect.
