WGRF-97 Rock Buffalo ~ Van Halen Petition!

Hey guys, I don't know if it's been mentioned on here yet but one of the most dedicated classic rock radio stations anywhere is trying to bring Van Halen to the area!

I know it's the very first radio station that got me interested in music and in particular Van Halen!

The Buffalo area has been getting the shaft lately with Seger passing them over and let’s hopes VH won’t do the same thing. It's true that the radio station and fans of the area have always supported the band so maybe if they get enough signatures, Van Halen will make a stop in Buffalo!

I signed it so maybe we can get everyone here to do the same!

    Ciao.

Maybe we’ll give Dave a call and see what he’s up to.” - Edward Van Halen ~ 2009

I think we all know Buffalo loves DLR and DLR loves Buffalo, so I'm guessing there isn't enough $$$ involved for the VH's...?

You got my signature! I'd love to not have to drive over five hours to see them again.

Buffalo has always been a stop for major rock bands. I hope it happens for you!!! It would be a shame for them to skip such a city......

I know my wife would drive up from CT to see that!

I doubt that would happen, as back earlier in the decade, when the Goo Goo Dolls were flying high on the charts, Johnny Rzeznik took several jabs at VH in the press, even stating that "VH was responsible for a whole genre of bad music" (i.e. hair bands). Pretty fuckin short sighted IMO, and typical of the attitude toward classic bands from the newer musicians trying to be cool.

Goo Goo Dolls where never anything. Nobodies. HAir stylers. No drive to be original. Sounds like mid 90's forever. Trapped . Contract and residules getting lower and lower. Good for them. They deserve to be the bottom feeders. How could you live with getting up in the morning knowing your music is sterile and posing?. Yes. Sterile and posing.

They would likely play HSBC Arena like they did in '04.

No offense but the Darien Center ranks up there as being the WORST place to see a concert in the area! A complete shithole!

There’s the unfortunate swamp area where you have no choice but to park your car if you can't get a spot in the parking lot. It then takes you about 3 hours to get from your car to the one entrance to leave!

The last concert I saw there was Rush last year, we had 10th row center and talk about the most uncomfortable seating! I think I still have splinters from the seat I had! All seats are on the same level, no elevation whatsoever from the front of the stage and going all the way back to the lawn. They should just demolish the place and build it like most of the amphitheatre seating we have today!

I heard March 15 might be the open date Van Halen plays in Buffalo and that would mean the HSBC Arena, thankfully!

I think they'll come to Buffalo, whether you sign some stupid petition or not.
The radio stations always pull this crap...it gets you to visit their website.
Why would they even mention it, if they weren't coming? They'll be here...it's just a matter of WHERE.

I believe they're keeping 3/15 open. Ky Mani Marley has a show booked in Idaho for that date so I believe intends on keeping it as another off day.
