Default There is definetly a keyboard player hiding on stage

I was just listening to the Anaheim (12-20-07) boot and noticed there is a huge mistake at the intro of the keyboard part.....definetly different than the other bootlegs I've heard. During the first verse there are also some bad notes coming from the keyboard. I think that is proof there is a keyboard player hiding behind the stage somewhere. To be fair...the keyboardist isn't the only one hitting bad notes there.

Van Halen has had a keyboardist touring with them since '95, possibly earlier. Sometimes he plays, sometimes he triggers sequences. It was Alan "Fitz" Fitzgerald on the Balance and '04 tours. For the III and current tour it was/is someone else.

On the III Tour, didn't Gary say "Hit it JJ" or something like that when a keyboard was to start a new song?

Well it was Gary...sooo..you never really know what he meant.....then again Dave says right before Cradle..."Hit it Maestro!"...at least he did in Toronto...so I don't know who the Maestro is.....maybe his name is Bob or something...

Wasn't "JJ" the guy running sound at the side of the stage? He had something to do with the crew...read it somewhere but can't remember where.

The III tour was John "JJ" Jessel. He involved with Toto, playing keyboards and working with David Paich in the studio.

Unless they changed keyboardists mid tour, it is still Fitz behind the stage. He's done every tour, except the III tour, since 91.
