Default *Sammy Tour with Kenny Chesney*

Former VAN HALEN frontman Sammy Hagar will join Kenny Chesney for at least seven stops along Chesney's Poets & Pirates stadium tour, it was announced today.

Starting May 10, 2008, Hagar will begin his jaunt in Baltimore, MD for what is sure to be a fun time with Chesney and many of his other friends, including KEITH URBAN, BROOKS & DUNN, LEANN RIMES, GARY ALLAN, LUKE BRYAN and BIG & RICH.

From there, Sammy will be rocking on with Chesney to Cleveland, OH; Phoenix, AZ; Nashville, TN; Atlanta, GA; Philadelphia, PA; until he makes his way to the already sold-out Foxboro, MA show.

Hagar looks forward to the opportunities that this tour will afford him to bring his music and the partying Cabo Wabo lifestyle to nearly a million new fans across the country in packed stadiums.

"I haven't had the opportunity to play in front of stadium crowds — like I will be on this tour — since my days of headlining the Texas Jams and playing with VAN HALEN the last time we toured as a group," says Hagar. "Live sold-out stadium shows like this is what I built my career on and I am looking at this as a challenging opportunity to rock them just like I used to. With millions of potential new young fans, I couldn't be more excited to bring my show to town!"

Hagar will join Chesney on the following Poets & Pirates tour stops:

    May 10 - M&T Bank Stadium - Baltimore, MD
May 24 - Browns Stadium - Cleveland, OH
May 31 - U of Phoenix Stadium - Phoenix, AZ
Jul. 05 - LP Field - Nashville, TN
Jul. 13 - Turner Field - Atlanta, GA
Jul. 19 - Lincoln Financial - Philadelphia, PA
Jul. 26 - Gillette Field - Foxboro, MA

Interesting comment, wonder when the "group" ceased operating as such?!

VH didn't play stadiums in '04, they played arenas. they played stadiums on Monsters of Rock though...once again, revisionist history by Sammy Hagar.

Hence my comment about him saying, "last time we toured as a group"...
    ie functional group

The 2004 tour was a simply a business proposition, and not a group...

Geezus christ. He probably intended to say when I was with Van Halen. I love the way how people take literaly what people say. These guys talk all the time they get things messed up.

and one could argue that the Carnal Knowledge and Balance tours were done as a group, being they toured behind full albums of new material, and not a best of with only three new songs. Sam's still wrong.

Sam does quite a bit of stretching the truth about album sales, attendance totals, etc., but I don't Sam said anything here worth getting our panties in a bunch over. He probably just meant when he was in Van Halen. Dave got the damn years, albums, song names, etc. wrong in his book, and that was written down!
Taylor Swift is nice to look at. Adele can sing.

Emperor Brett - "I can't believe you guys are analyzing song-by-song Van Halen III? What next, analyzing the script of Stroker Ace looking for some shred of Citizen Kane?"

David Lee Roth did the impossible. He made Van Halen better. Deal with it!

    Preferred pronouns: he/him/his

Hurricane Halen - Let's all gingery touch our sword tips!!!

Van Halen 2004 was a fucking dysfunctional joke. It was not a group.

True and that is why he is by far the best businessman of the group. Perception is reality in the 'business of show' (Gene Simmons). When you go to the fair and they want you to see the lizard boy, you aren't really going to see a lizard boy.

To be sure DLR talks a lot about this and that and no telling what is true or not.
During the Sam and Dave show, Dave would say 'Sam throws a party but I am the party'. Right Dave, You where the party on that tour with the blue suit and that hair. It is all about business and making a buck.
