Default Does anyone think MA has been to a show?

With upcoming GW cover with Eddie and Wolfie I was thinking about Michael Anthony and just how hard this must be for him.

Does anyone here think that he has bought a ticket, put the shades and hat on and taken in a show on this tour? The supense must be killing him.

Doubtful. Michael Anthony has the best life out of any of them. He is well-off, money to burn and can actually go out in public and not be recognized by just anyone. I more wonder why he hasn't been recruited for a real band.
    What is the deal?

I think it's doubtful Mike would have gone to a show. He wouldn't gain anything by doing it. Maybe he's had a look at a couple of clips on youtube.

It's very sad how Ed and Alex have treated Mike, 99% of the fans want him back. Sadly it's unlikely Mike would ever want to go back after all of this...
“And what we have at our fingertips is arguably one of the greatest high tenor voices ever – that was in Michael Anthony. In our tiny little corner of the universe, that voice is as identifiable as the high voice in Earth, Wind & Fire, as identifiable as the high voice in the Beach Boys. Van Halen is an indelicate house blend of both – that’s intentionally. So I would always look forward to that reunion.” - David Lee Roth

    Bought a ticket??

If it ever came down to that I'd personally drive to LA just to kick both Ed and Al in the balls.

There's no way Mike has been to one of the shows. I just can't imagine that. Like Ian said above, it's possible he's checked out some clips or maybe read a review here and there just out of curiosity, but I'm sure that's about it.

Eddie Van Halen was so innovative and kicked so much ass, and David Lee Roth was for a time indisputably the Greatest Man in America.

He was at the Detroit show! I saw him! He was dressed in a long coat, with dark sunglasses, and a fake breard! No wait, that must have been Dusty Hill!

Not a snowballs chance in hell in my book. Why would he want to see 3 guys who betrayed him in every possible way? Let's remind ourselves shall we...

    1. Eddie referred to him as "Hot Sauce Sobleweski" and denounced his right to change his own name
    2. They kicked him out of the group and have, in every interview since, made it seem as though he contributed nothing whatsoever
    3. Actually went so far as to remove him from 6 classic album covers
    4. Removed his name from the songwriting credits for Panama (possibly others)
    5. FORCED him to forfeit any right he had to any VH related material
    6. Didn't even want him on the 2004 tour, and when they finally relented, he didn't even get to play bass on the 3 new tracks
    7. Hardly played any bass on Van Halen 3 TEN years ago

So no, I don't think Mike has gone or will go to any of these shows. The thought of him paying for a ticket is the only thing more sickening than imagining him being there watching 3 former friends without him as a kid who hasn't had to work a day in his life take's his place. No offense to Wolfgang, people are raised whatever way they are, but just imagine how you'd feel knowing these 3 guys did everything they possibly could to humiliate you and make the world forget you. Whether it was all 3 or just Ed, who knows, but the fact the other two or one did nothing to stop it is shameful.

As for why Mike isn't doing his own thing, I think he's at a point in his life where he enjoys playing occasionally and wants to be with his family more often than not. He's far more, shall we say human, than the other guys from VH. I take solace in knowing he's healthier and happier than any of the other guys (save Wolfgang) will ever be. Whether it be playing with Sam or driving his kids to school, Mike has got better things to do I would think.

isn't this the same reason Ed put his son in the band?

I actually agree with most of your post but that was a funny point to make. Mike's a great guy because he spends time with his family. But Ed is a dick because he's playing with his son.

Mike may be a great guy and Ed may be a dick but there are somany other points that can be made to illustrate this.
