Default Live Unchianed 2007/8 - No Heavy Bass Hit??

Has anyone noticed that wolfie is not playing the solid thumping open D throughout the song? To me it sounds more "mainstream" if you will. Just small complaint on the current tour. We play unchained a lot, and the open D is just killer. It gives the song way more depth and character. Almost too "popish" without it. Anybody else care?

You have to admit, it's a refreshing take to question the kid's method of playing on a particular tune, rather than questioning if he's actually playing in the first place.

There is no "searching" to be done. If it's a true deal or not, it will come out in the wash one day. Sure, it's fun to speculate, yet it only serves to muddy the waters. And quite frankly, with what a rock "performance" has come to mean in this day and age, I honestly could care less.

Ya, he is not playing the open "D" note the way it used to be played by Mike. He is playing the bass note of the chords Ed is playing ie: D, Bflat, C.
I also heard on at least one boot where he was playing the same notes as Eddie plays during the verse sections.
Gives the song a different feel.

    Good observations indeed.

I guess with a different bassist you would get a little different interpretation of the song.

I noticed he does that with a lot of the songs. It's probably that new and refreshing sound that Roth was talking about during the press conference.

    SOME VH LINKS CLASSICS

"Sammy is fat, Dave is bald, Mike is next in line to be the Pope, Eddie is a drunk, Wolfie is fat, Gary is gay, CVH is VH, Mike is VH, Sammy can outsing Dave on a tequilla hangover, Eddie is a meth head, How Many Say I is the worst VH song ever, Up for Breakfast is a close second, Dave was horrible at radio and everybody hates the assless chaps.
Ok I think that covers everything." Ziggysmalls
