Breaking My Rules...Selling one of my Kramers

Yes I started my own For Sale thread, that's the little liberties I can take owning the site.

Ok as I mentioned elsewhere, I am building a new Warmoth guitar, so I need some extra cash.

So I'm going to thin the herd a little, and I am going to sell my Kramer JK Purple Burst. These were ONLY made for the Japanese market, you couldn't get them here, I bought this last year from a guy in Japan. They're from the ESP era of Kramer, so probably late 80's. They are really well-made guitars, and play really nice.

It has a TRT-1 licensed Floyd on it, the only problem is one of the string holders is missing (I had put a real Floyd on it), but that's an easy replacement part. I would recommend getting a real Floyd in it anyway.

Here's a pic, it's the one on the left. I can take more pics if anyone cares. I paid $399 for it last year, plus shipping. But I'd take less. Anyone interested let me know.

    Hi Brett,

Any specs on the neck? Radius specifically? What kind of shape is it in, fret size? Neck wear and fret wear? Is there a heavy finish on the neck? Thanks.

Unfortunately I don't know the specs on it. I'ts comparable to other American Kramers of the late 80's, when ESP was doing their necks. It's in very good shape, it's straight. The frets are fine, and should have plenty of play in them. Hard to tell what they are, maybe 6105's. The back has a light finish on it, nothing heavy at all. The fretboard could use a good cleaning. To me it looks nice, I haven't noticed anything in the year I've owned it

This would be a good time for me to mention my fingerboard cleaning recommendation:

Mix about a cap full of Murphy's Oil Soap in a small bowl of water. Using a no-scratch Scotch-Brite pad or sponge, run the rough side gently over the entire fingerboard and neck. One or two light passes is sufficient. Quickly wipe off the excess, and let the neck dry. Apply a light coat of lemon oil, and give it a short while to dry. You're then ready to re-string your guitar having just cleaned and conditioned the fingerboard and neck.

    It works wonders.

Nah, no need for all that. This works just as well, if not better:

Simply take your (soon to be) ex-wife's toothbrush, your guitar and some isopropyl rubbing alcohol out to the garage, along with a cooler full of beer. Taking your time, drink the beer and occasionally scrub the frets with the toothbrush and rubbing alcohol. Spend a quiet afternoon doing this, then quietly return your wife's toothbrush to it's holder in the bathroom.

You will be amazed at how good you will feel for the rest of the week.

That, my friends, is why I come here. Hats off Chef.

There are a lot of us that SAY we would sell our wives before selling our guitars, but somehow the ladies always seem to find a way to stick around.

    Must be the vagina.
