Default Cat Poo Coffee Cost A Lot

A rare type of coffee made from the droppings of the civet cat is wowing coffee connoisseurs around the world. Enzymes in the cats' stomach break down the proteins that give coffee its bitter taste, thus enhancing its flavor and creating a brew many consider superb.

That's all good and well. But civets are not cats. They are arboreal mammals that are kind of catlike, but they look like mongooses. It's favorite food is the coffee bean, which remains intact when it...you know. They are on the endangered species list.

    They are not cats!

Anyway, here's one making a fresh batch of coffee for you.

I LOVE my daily coffee. I am hooked on my 20 ounce cup. And I love needing it.

That being said, I've gotten more picky in the last couple of years about what types of coffee I'll drink.

First of all, the bitterness exists because it was originally the plant's defense against animals eating its beans; the bitter taste keeps them away.

Second, there are coffee beans that contain much less of the bitter flavor. (I imagine they are from plants coming from regions where there are fewer predators.) Amongst coffee connoisseurs, the "better" cup of coffee is the one that is less bitter--naturally.

Ever had Starbucks' light or dark brew of the day? Ever notice how bitter it is? That's because for all the hoopla they put out as being "premium," they're actually serving you the same shit you'd get at a Perkins or Shoney's or some other greasy joint. I can't fucking stand Starbucks' coffee.

"No, thank you" to the cat shit coffee, too. I'll stick with the good stuff I've already been drinking.

i got my mom's 1980 Chevette Scooter as a graduation gift. had 60,000 miles on it, i think. actually that's wrong, it wasn't completely a gift, i had to pay $500 toward it. but i beat the everlovin' shit out of that car. learned how to replace starters and alternators, too.

Yup. If one shut the driver's side door too hard, one would watch in utter defeat as not only the "Super-Glued" rear view mirror would fall off of the windshield, yet the driver's side door-mounted mirror would either slant improperly or simply fall uselessly to the side.

Although the fact that the car leaked input from the slightest amount of rainfall, this was somewhat assuaged by the fact that the "carpet" was in reality a roll of plastic, that could be cleaned out with a well aimed garden hose.

What was not so handy and dandy was the unpredictable transmission, which seemed to have it's own mind. One would be driving up an incline (yup, pretty rare in Florida, yet nonetheless) and suddenly..."Fuck It", it would pop out of gear. Not to mention those horrid grinding sounds when one went above, say...58 miles per hour.

Christ, I should save this for my book. It would of course be appropriately titled: "I Told Ya So".

heard about a similar brew that comes out of South America except instead of a catgoose thing, it's a goat. Same idea, the enzymes in the goat's digestive system make it an incredible cup of coffee.

I'd give it a shot...it's not like there's shit in the coffee....course I don't want to spend 200 bucks a bag...at least that what the goat coffee was going for.

NPR is great for this kind of stuff...
